Ship/Boat access area.

First of all, sorry if this is in the wrong place.

I'm using RPGmaker MV and my idea is to do with having a vehicle that you can access a walk around map on from the menu.

I have everything down to the point of working except once I access the map (to walk around on the boat) I have no idea how to go back to the world map again with the boat in the position I left it.

For example, say you're sailing around the ocean and then decide you want to hop off the wheel and walk around the boat/ship to talk to party members, buy or sell items, save your game etc etc. You open your menu and hit the command to do so and you're ported to a new map that represents the boats/ships deck so you can walk around on board.

How would I then make it where if I activate the wheel again it will teleport me back to the world map in the same exact location I left it and in control of the boat again?

Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

you need to use variables to store the original position (use the game data option of control variables) and then use those variables as target coordinates for the teleport, event location placement and vehicle placements.

You can also use a plugin.
This plugin called Save Event Location by YEP (Yanfly Engine Plugin).

Download the plugin, and move it Documents\Games\<your project name here>\js\plugins
Open your RPG Maker, go to plugins manager, select the plugin...
After finish installing the plugin, write this thing: <Save Event Location> on your vehicle note tag.

It should be working :)

You don't need a plugin, and that one won't do it.


The OP is wanting to keep track of where the player was at an earlier point in the game, not save the location an event is currently at.

Hello! I would like to know if there are any pluggings or any way to customize how battles look?
