So as you can tell by the screenshots, my ship just likes to go anywhere it pleases. (Though you do still take damage running over the lava. I don't know if this is a common issue, or what I should do about it, but any help is much appreciated.

I am running a few custom scrips that I will post here. The first is Galv's Region Effects.

The second is map passage modding by Shaz. Which does say this under compatibility:

 Compatibility:

# This script may have compatibility issues with other scripts that:

# - modify the Game_Map.check_passage method

# - modify player movement and collision

# - modify the map during runtime (such as tile swapping scripts)

I can't get off the ship anywhere the player can go, and the ship can even travel into my towns and cities! (Although it is unable to move once it gets there.) Obviously if it can't travel on land, we wouldn't have the city problem. I think that the ship is set to the "A" tile passability I do believe. But I still need the character to be able to walk where he needs to go. Unlimited passability is only supposed to be for the airship!

If you need any more info, just reply and I'll make sure to provide it.

do you use the original tilesets or have you modified them?

In default, ship passablity is hardcoded into the position of the autotile in A1. For example, the ship can move on the first A1-Tile (which is one of the water tiles). If you exchange the A1-Tilesheet with one that has land on the first tile, then that will not change the fact that the first tile is passable for the ship - it will move on land.

If you have those effects with non-default tilesets, then you need to check and modify the tilesheets.

If you have those effects with default tilesets, then a script has changed default behaviour and you need to find out which script that was.

The only set that's not default is C and D, and I've only used land elements from the C tileset.

The map passage modding has not interfered with anything else so far in my game, (actually it's been a lifesaver). I just did a quick test and the boat does the same thing, just at a slower pace. I have used the mod on almost all my maps including this one, but that was just to make the little trees and mountains impassable (Whereas the character can normally walk on them.) I can try taking out the Passage setup script for the moment, leaving only the runtime to see if it's just that, or a bug when I release the game. What else can I do if this fails? I need to have that mod in my game at this point, or else there's a few places that would bug out.

EDIT: It doesn't matter if I take out the setup script.

First, check if it's really the script you're believing to be the cause by temporarily removing all scripts (one after another, testing after each) from a copy of the original project.
When you have confirmed the problem, place a description on that script's topic asking for help there, and hope that the original scripter has time to check your case and find the cause of the bug.

Thanks. I made a copy of my game, and it turns out that it was the passage script. I guess I'll have to ask the creator about a bug fix then. Not sure what could have went wrong, but I guess that's for the script maker to decide! Thanks a whole bunch!

I'm going to go ahead and close this. I'll post an update in the thread for the script when I've applied the fix.

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:
Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
