Alright I gotta admit it.

I'm stumped.


The above picture is the skill I have set to inflict the state on my player.

And the photo above this is the event that activates when the state is applied!

The problem: Skills can't personally trigger switches is what I believe the root cause is. If I set this event to be triggered by any other switch it simply freezes my player. If I don't set it to a switch then the state is applied to my character upon skill use and nothing happens. My player simply gets a pretty little star next to his name.

Why not have the skill call the common event directly? Under the features tab the last option is call common event on skills. Try that.

That sentence is the core of your problem, because states CANNOT trigger events.

A skill or an item (or anything with an "effect" can trigger a common event easily, but states have no effect, they can only add features.

Because you didn't provide a screenshot of your state, we can't tell you what went wrong with that - but we do know that you have to call the common event directly from the skill (remove the autorun trigger - autorun CEs cannot be called, only CE's without triggers).

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
