Show Picture/Animation Question

Okay! Thanks for taking the time to read my topic - I hope you can help me.

I'm calling a Common Event that shows a picture in the middle of the screen whenever a player uses a particular skill.
The issue I'm running into, is that I want to show an animation on the picture.


Since the player can do this anywhere, using Player X and Y is unreliable, as they might be on the edge of the map, and miss out on the picture/animation, which will break imersion and not be fun at all (I also cannot seem to show the picture using direct designation and variables for the players position, either).

So, I had the thought of making a dummy event on each map, then I can move the event to the center of the screen, show the animation on it, and I'm good.
But I soon realized that I didn't know how. So my questions are:


How can I move an event to the center of the screen?
Also, how can I make it so that the Common Event will move the Dummy Event on any given map the player is on?



Is there another way to do this via eventing/plugins that I'm missing?

to move an event by common event on any map, that dummy event always needs to have the same ID. Which is basically only possible if you always make it the first event placed on the map, giving it event ID 1. (it is possible to get the same on a higher number by making and deleting events to get the correct ID on a new event, but that is much more work).


You can either load the screen X/Y (instead of X/Y) to get the screen coordinates, or you can calculate the middle of the screen in absolute coordinates with your knowledge of map size and current player position (will require a series of control variables for mathematical operations)

This is very helpful, thank you! I can see what you mean when you say making and deleting events is much more work!
