So, I have a problem showing pictures and I have no idea how to fix it.

It was only for a test but it would be amazing if the problem is actually solvable.
I'm trying to show a picture of a note, but because I have lighting around my character (to make it look like she's got a flashlight) it shows the light image above the image of the note making it appear not very readable, (this is when I try to open the item of the diary note) and I don't want to remove the light because I like it.
Idk if there is any way to fix it or to remove the light while she looks at the note and then after she's done for it to reappear or something?

I'll show some images of the event and common event and settings I used for this.

I might be misreading this entirely, but it looks like you could literally just erase picture 90(? The flashlight) Around the same spot where you show picture 1 (The diary entry) and then display it again after you erase the diary entry's picture.

No, it won't work.

Pictures are ordered according to their picture id. A picture with a higher picture id will be displayed on top of a picture with a lower picture id.

Because your diary note is picture #1 and your light is picture #90, the light will always be displayed on top of the diary note. If you use picture #1 for the light, and a higher numbered picture for the diary image, then the diary image will be displayed on top.

Ohh! okay thank you!
I didn't know that because I haven't worked very much with rpg maker, so I had followed a tutorial for the flashlight and couldn't figure that out with the pictures, but that fixed it!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
time for a new avatar :)
