So I see that there is a subcommand for the text that is \N[Whatever actor you're using number here]

Well...what if I have four different options for characters?

And what if I want it to be able to detect which character it is?

Do I just leave it with \N[]

Or do I need a variable?

\N[n]

means for actor 1 you need \N[1] for actor 2 \N[2] and so on.

Go to the Database. All actors have their own ID, like 001,002,003 okay?

So the n is that number.

I am not sure if this is possible through the Show text, but I THINK it is! :D

What if I want/need it to detect which character is there at the time?

I thank you for telling me what the little n meant...

Give me a minute, I will try to make this work.

Maybe $game_variables[q]   can do this, gimme a moment.

But it's always there - we are talking about the DATABASE ID, not the party number.

\N[1] will always give the name of the first actor in the database, no matter whether that actor is in the party or not.

If you want to get the name of your first party member, it doesn't work that way directly.

You can either use a messaging script that adds a text code for party member names (there are a few), or you can use control variable to load the ID of the first party member into a variable and then use that variable to give the ID and Name.

Haven't used any variables yet...so they might work

So are you saying I should use the \P[1] command instead just to avoid conflicts?

Create a veriable, let's say 001: and make it equal to 2.

By default Natalie is the second hero.

Try this:

\N[\V[1]] HELLO!

Just read @Andar's reply. He is right. I was careless.

You can refer to any database actor as I show you above in the textbox.

But refering to party members, it is as already @Andar mentioned a little more complex.

Variable 001 can contain the current party first member or second, you can do this using control Variables too.

Thanks all.

I found a solution.

I actually decided to use a variable for this cutscene and then the \P[1] command for another.

Those both helped.

To be fair

Both you and Andar helped.

Cause I can use the variable if I need more complex things.

By the way...any admin seeing this.

This thread is solved

The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such?
