Hi everyone! :)

I am trying to implement a more traditional western skill system to my project, where the actors have values in skills like Thievery or Stalking.

I can't script but I managed to get it somewhat to work but I can't figure out how to display the actual skill value in the skills menu.

In the skill tab it should display something like this:

Athletics 29

Lore 66

Social 43

Can someone help me with this, or point me to the right direction?

Also is there already a script that actually was made to handle such a skill system? I imagine it wouold make it much easier to handle then just by events ^^;

I was interested in being able to do this also.  It's frustrating how you can display variables in descriptions but not in the actual menu names themselves.  Espon linked me this:

http://victorscripts.wordpress.com/rpg-maker-vx-ace/windows-scripts/control-text/

So you may want to check that out.  It might be what you are looking for.  I was scared away from using it because it says it requires it's own engine, a concept I don't understand yet (I'm still very new to scripting).  But if you end up using it I would appreciate it if you could PM me and let me know how you like it.

Thank you!

But that script does not actually do what I need, or I am making some mistake ^^;

Berylstone, in general you can try out scripts without much of a problem, you can just delete it afterwards without any damage done :)

So if you like you can try out Victors Basic Engine and see if that in combination with the script you posted actually does what you need. :)

That's the second time I have tried to give out that script incorrectly :headshake:

I was under the impression that script is suppose to let you add variables into the menu names, but I guess that's not the case then.  That's what I was wanting to do too, so if that script doesn't help you I guess it won't help me either.

I'm going to keep an eye on your thread - cause I would like to be able to add variable values into my database names also. If someone gives you a script that does it - please send me a PM so I know where to look if not too much trouble.  I've been looking for a way to do this for awhile now.

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? So I was playing with filters and this looked interesting...

Versus the normal look...

Kind of gives a very different feel. :LZSexcite:
To whom ever person or persons who re-did the DS/DS+ asset packs for MV (as in, they are all 48x48, and not just x2 the pixel scale) .... THANK-YOU!!!!!!!!! XwwwwX
