Okay, I was wondering if there was a way to have an icon show in the dialogue box next to text. Basically it would go like, "Obtained [dagger icon] Dagger." I was wondering and could not find anything before but, a command or way for icons to show up in the "Show Text" event parts. Any advice or ideas will be greatly appreciated. :)

well, you could use Yanfly's message script...

but if you know the exact icon index (which you can get by opening the database, open an icon chooser and click the icon to show the index), you can do it without scripts

\I[icon index]

If the events will be definite, and you won't be changing icons too much, I suggest just using the default method... else, use Yanfly's script

\I[index]

In ace when you go to the icon list it will say the index of the selected icon in the corner, on vx or earlier you'll need to either check them manually or get a script that gives item indexes.

Edit: Just a minute to slow...

Oh wait, you're using VX right??? then you might need to manually obtain the icon indexes...

I tried typing the \I[9] but, it just shows up as " \I[9] " in the dialogue.

If you're using VX (I don't have that), then the text-commands might be different from ace.
Hower the mouse above the input text part of the show text command, that should give you a list of the available textcodes and their function.

If that doesn't help, post a screenshot of your event commands here and we'll see if we can find the problem.

VX does not allow display of icons by default, like Ace does. It also doesn't give you the popup help when you hover the mouse over the text area.

You will need a script.

Okay, didn't realize it listed the commands on the help icon. Apparently it doesn't have the command to show icons. Oh well. :/ Thanks for all the help though. I appreciate it. :) (also the topic can be closed whenever a mod/admin reads this. XD)

I've seen it, but not closed it, as the OP posted 2 minutes after me, and may not have seen that I moved it.

"You can't do it" is not necessarily the end of the matter. As I said, you CAN do it with scripts. Question is, do you want it badly enough that you're willing to search for scripts or have them suggested to you? If not, let me know, and I'll close it.

Just look for Yanfly's Custom Message script, or Modern Algebra's ATS. Both will allow you to use more advanced options in text, including showing an icon.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
