Heya guys. This is a small browser game I made over the past few weeks while in between large projects. It is free to play on Kongregate, but it makes its revenue from the ads, hence why it's here in the commercial games forum. So you can jump in and play it at any time.

Trailer preview:

Description:

The aliens have captured a number of humans and have decided to experiment with them by making them fight various things in the arena. Well, except, these people choose to utilise very unconventional ways of fighting - they dance, swagger, and groove their way to victory!

20 battles in a row. You have to win them one after the other till you beat the final boss!

There are 4 arena modes, each with its own set of rules:
  • Standard Mode - Full heal and equipment access between battles. Shop access after every boss fight.
  • Infallible Mode - Same as standard except no party member is allowed to fall in battle at any time.
  • Shuffle Mode - Your team is randomly chosen for you, and after every boss fight, it shuffles randomly again.
  • Marathon Mode - No full heal between battles, no shops, no equipment access. You just have 100 tokens at the start to buy whatever you need for all 20 battles.

5 playable team members to choose from to compile a party of 3 fighters:
  • Kyle - A classy swinging dude in a fedora hat which may or may not be used as a weapon.
  • Veronika - An athletic gal who loves her flips and somersaults.
  • Madison - She'll charm your socks off with her flirty gimmicks!
  • Samet - Disco-dancing, 80s style aficionado who will never part with his cool shades.
  • E'zak - Some random alien dude with weird as heck skills, using his sneezes, tongue, and a hidden eye for fighting.

I think it's a pretty neat idea, but I kinda wish it had more substance... after a few battles I feel it gets a bit stale. The music for the background is very jazzy pop so it's fitting for a dance fight (is it supposed to continue out of battle?) , and I love the battle animations, the little finger snap is genius! It's neat that you have in on Kongregate, I don't even have a sweet clue on how that's even accomplished.

Thanks. Yeah, I imagine it would get repetitive unless you really enjoy turn-based combat of RM games. Have you tried other arena modes? Infallible Mode can certainly keep things on the edge, and Marathon Mode is very tricky too because it makes you properly ration your healing items and energy drinks.

And yeah, the music just goes continuously in between battles too (it seemed a bit off having it stop in between battles). All 4 tracks were composed by @JCBrickston. :)

Regarding Kongregate, it's fairly simple to put them up. You just have to submit them via the game submission form, but it only takes certain formats and there is a file size limitation too, so only small games can go unfortunately.

Thanks. Maybe someday I will. :D I know online gaming is popular nowadays and can attract a large audience, but no idea how I'd go about implementing that in RM. We'll see, I guess.

I hope you enjoy it. Since you liked the arena mode in Renegade Grounds, I think you'll like this too since it's very similar and has more characters and more different modes.
And of course. Let the creative spill go wild. If you have proverbial buckets, you might want to capture some of it before it runs away. :D

A fedora cool guy and two girls. :p It seems I didn't yet got the pattern of your final bosses in arena type games. But I am not ashamed to get to them when I get to them! XD

Hehehe, a good party. I tried to make sure that every (well, almost any) party combination was viable. Kyle, Veronika, and Samet are the offensive character types, whereas Madison and E'zak are the more supportive types. It's possible to do the whole thing with all 3 offensive characters or with 2 offensive and 1 support. 2 supports can make things feel a little slow since they lack in offensive power.

And I am sure you'll topple the final boss. He's not quite as hard as the arena mode bosses in Renegade Grounds. :p
If you get a chance, you might enjoy the Infallible mode as an extra challenge, where all of your party must be standing at all times. If even one character gets KOed in any battle, it's game over. @JCBrickston managed to beat it with the fully offensive party, whereas I personally had 1 support (Madison) to provide the healing. I wonder what will be the winning party for you in this mode. :p

I do admit, I had a lot of luck with the drop equipment there; at Renegade Ground, last 3 or 5 arenas I had equipment troubles :p

Well replayability value.

Yeah, there is a bit of an RNG element present since you can't pinpoint the exact battles sequence you'll get. They're sort of semi-randomized and different enemies often drop different stuff.
