Description of the Feature: MV decided to support Sideview, which is great and all but it has one major flaw, you cannot customize it without scripting. There is a reason RPG Maker 2003 was so popular (aside from having the most powerful eventing tools). You can set unique sheets per class. Making it perfect for DQ/FF clones. You can set unique poses per skill per unique actor. You can set movement per skill per unique actor. You can set weapon graphics to equipment! You can use battle animations aside from character sheets to show motion for your characters. Making it perfect for ougis if you don't want to do it by notetag or whatsoever. You can customize the basic poses than just following a rigid layout. Because of Battle Animation support, you can legit have more frames. and so on. YES FOR ALL THE QUESTIONS. I got pretty confused when XP was released a none of those features were implemented at time
YES PLEASE! Even with the current battler sheets, a lot of people want to use an attack animation for a spell and can't without plugins because spells default to casting. I'd love to be able to select the motions per skill!
I think you could choose which frames\poses to use for casting, attacking, etc in RM2K3. Not sure why that didn't return in MV.
Yes, yes, a thousand times yes! I've scripted around this kind of stuff before and it was really tedious, not to mention processing-intensive. Would be great to have this integrated into the main system.
Considering a large portion of the RM community are here for FF/DQ clones I definitely see this as a benefit.
I think you mean de-evolution since it was already in an earlier engine. XD All of my yes! I was happy to hear about the return of side-view to the series, but the reality was a lot worse than the previous version so it was a pretty big let-down. :<
Absoluteley will agree to this idea here. It is exactly what I was looking for and dealing with in MV. Stoped several times with my project because the character moves to the enemy while having a bow equiped etc. This is totally needed.
i loved this feature in 2k3, and never understood why it was removed. Please bring it back and i promise i won't be evil.....much.
