I just made a game that I can't beat. I feel like an idiot, because I've seen a trained monkey beat this game in super speed for treats.

It's called Lights Out, based on the Tiger handheld.

This is another hard game, Sokoban.

I called mine Push Box: http://jakeis.com/push_box.html

I made these examples, but I didn't invent these games, so I'm posting in the games forum instead of the art forum. There are hundreds of versions of these on the internet, but I'm just using my own as examples because personally I like mine.

I really just want to discuss simple games that are also really hard.

I also want to take the ideas and see if I can make them in HTML like these two.

I find it somewhat humorous that you can't beat it but others can. Usually there is a developer advantange; I can beat one of my games in 40 minutes without dying whereas others take up to 4 hours, lol.

Minesweeper is another hard one. I can't get passed level 3 on my own Minesweeper game. I thought about little story acts in between levels like Pacman, but you'd probably get sick of the first act while the rest of them go unseen.

I also made a simple grow snake game (get bigger; don't crash your tail), that gets impossible at a quick maximum speed/length. It's pretty much unbeatable.

Whichever monkey that beats Lights out deserves to be sent to Mars.

There's simple game that I tried out long ago called Circle Chain: http://www.emanueleferonato.com/stuff/circle_chain/
It could be difficult sometimes depending on the timing of the projectiles or how the level generates.

CreateJS version is also availiable: http://www.emanueleferonato.com/2012/10/31/circe-chain-engine-made-with-createjs-step-2/
I had an idea that instead of circles it could be stars. The points of the star determines where the projectile shoots from. 3-5 at most depend on it's shape.

I'm so back and forth on pre-ording MZ. I can totally wait for a better deal down the road (since I don't need the extras and waiting to see how YEP plugins turn out) but there's something about the fun in playing with "a new toy".

Who knew a adding menu commands would be so hard for something that should be a basic feature.
