So, I made a new character and he is going to be focusing on drawing aggression and countering, So I need a skill that enables a 100% physical counter chance and the character is unable to act while this is active, I tried this


In States make a State that is named whatever you want. For this example I'll use AllCrit. Set the Auto-removal timing to however many turns you want, but make sure the two numbers are equal unless you want it to last a random amount of turns. Under Traits, go to Param. Add an Ex-Parameter (Critical Rate), +200%. Add Messages if you want.

Now, go to Skills. Make a new one called whatever you want. Set the scope to The User (unless you want to be able to grant the crit ability to Allies), the Occasion to Battle Screen etc. etc. Under Effects, go to State, Add State, AllCrit 100%.

Go into your Classes, add your skill, do a battle test in the Troops page to check to see if it worked.


This does not work though, so any help would be amazing!

What exactly isn't working? Does the counter not work, or is it another aspect?

the counter does not work, the character will just take damage as if he isnt in a counter state

I just realized that you increased only the critical hit rate. The counter rate was never touched in your example. If you did add that, it's also possible that by restricting movement, the actor can't react and counter.

Oh my bad! I did not specify

Thats not how I did it, thats how i saw someone on steam doing it

I did the same thing except that I changed the counter attack rate to 100% and it didnt work, I also tried 200%, 300% and onward, Thats my bad for not being clear, i just copied the thing from steam

I do want it to just counter basic attacks so that works, how do i check for restrictions?

You mentioned that your state is designed to not allow the actor to move while in this state. If it's set to 'Cannot Move', the character may not be able to react and counter. In that case, change that to normal movement and see if that fixes it.

Figured it out! Its because in the state I had Cannot Move thank you!

Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
