Hi all.

I'm going to be posting a Paid offer for a plugin that is essentially a skill select plugin which allows the game dev some easy control over what the player can do with it.
This is going to be used for a card game based RPG to create decks so it will need some restrictions that a regular RPG doesn't.
I don't know enough about coding to suggest a price which is why I'm coming to you amazing people for help!
For reference it's needed features would be:

- A deck creation menu for players to build their decks with.
- The ability to store multiple decks (up to 5). This should be easily changed by the dev and in game should be easy for the player to switch between decks.
- The ability for the dev to categorize skills so that when the user chooses a particular style of skill/card to add to their deck (EG. Fire type cards) than only that type of card will show up in the skill select menu that the user builds there deck in. At this point it looks like I'll need 10 categories.
- The ability for the dev to limit the amount of times a skill can be added to a deck.
- The ability for the dev to limit the minimum and maximum size of the deck.
- For player ease of use, the ability to sort cards into subcategories in the skill pool (EG. Some cards are attacks while some cards are healing cards.) It should look something like:

-Attacks-
punch 1
punch 2
...
-Recovery-
heal 1
heal 2
...

- Although not necessary, there will be generic cards and it would be good to have a second skill pool, in the deck creation menu, for those skills to be added to a deck.

So those are the key features I need. There are a couple more details along the lines of, earning a skill allows it to be used multiple times in a deck (you don't need to earn the skill multiple times to put it in your deck multiple times) but I can talk about them in PM.

Battle systems are normally one of the most expensive plugins to have made, so I´d expect someone to charge somewhere between 100 - 1000, depending on the features you want.

Well, for the price it will all depend on what exactly you want done.
If you only want the card deck mechanics, the custom scene, and plan to event the card battle system yourself I don't think it will cost you too much, but don't quote me.
If you want the card battle itself scripted it will depend heavily on your intended mechanics, which your post doesn't explain, but expect it costing you quite a bit.

Ah! I should have mentioned that. I am planning to make all of the skills myself.
What I need the script to do in battle is this:
Each turn give you 3 random skills to use. The skill that's used needs to be removed from the skill pool until the end of the battle. The other two skills need to be put back into the skill pool.
The one other thing it needs to do is allow you to have a way of turning on and off using certain skill types (EDIT: essentially this just means greying out some skills based on a note tag so they are unselectable) at certain times. Since my game has attacking phases and defending phases, I don't want the character to be able to attack in a defence phase.
I figure that can be done with a note tag in each skill that looks for a switch. When the switch is on it's the heroes turn to attack. When it's off it's the heroes turn to defend.

Does that give you a better idea?

Card System is already maded, i dont know if this fills what you want but maybe can help,originaly is maded for vx ace, but seems theres a mv version too, you can always google or search in youtube,also you can search in the forum, i found like 2 post more about same thing.

Hi! Thanks for that info but unfortunately it looks like it wont do what I need. Because I want my matches to take place inside a usual battle screen and use all the skills I'm writing I don't think this plug in will suit me.
I appreciate the effort you went to to find those videos for me though.

Just about finished I reckon.
This could probably be an entire thread, but it’s really interesting how replaying a game several years later can change how you relate to a character. I think Tidus from FFX got such a bad rap. I getchu. Completely different reaction as an adult now.
As you see, I still enjoy writing tutorials. Is there anything specific you want to see? (I know mapping and editing/resource making is usually popular, but those are very broad topics)
Well, I wanted to expand player battlers visually and now have 3 sheets and counting for each of my players party.
1. Regular sheet
2. The character has turned stone sheet.
3. Using potions sheet.

Technically the main hero has 4 since he starts with a wooden sword, and I felt that the battler should reflect that until he gets a metal one.

Right back to the RM game dev grind in about 15 minutes. :LZSexcite:
