Hey fellow game makers. I have this idea but I don't know how to begin to implement it. So I want to have a skill that makes 3 other actors appear, not including your party members, kinda like spirits and they all attack before they vanish. Kinda like a cinematic attack. I think it would be really cool to do but I don't even know where to begin. If you have any suggestions, that would be much appreciated.

Where is the skill going to be used? The field, or combat? I assume it will be in combat, but want to make sure first.

Just make an animation for it. Like put the actors in an animation, then run the animation in the skill. You can use Notetags to have it play multiple animations at once at once (although that might require a battle plugin like Yanfly's?).

Take 4 or so frames of Swinging or Casting animation for the Actor(s) you want to use. Save them as an image then put into the Animation tab where you want it. You can have them fade or slide in then fade or slide out. If you want them to stay permanently maybe look for a Summon plugin.

Thank you so much for this. Although I'm going to struggle mightily with making actors into animations

No problem! If you have Photoshop or Gimp you should be able to copy and save the SVActor frames for swinging/casting then paste them into a new file then save as a PNG. I'm not entirely sure how to make a custom animation image or the sizes necessary but a quick google search should enlighten you.

Try a 4x4 square using a grid of 48px then plop each frame of the Swing/Cast in a seperate 48 4x4 box. This is how the ones in my animations folder are. I'd send for reference but they came with Olivia's Project so not sure if I could repost that.

You probably can't but I completely understand and thanks a lot for your help. I really appreciate it

So the concept for my Game Jam project is way more than I can complete before the deadline. But I think I found a way to get the core done and make the incomplete parts either not really noticeable or make them a part of the story for now. That sneaky, dastardly Krampus! Then I can complete the rest. Did I mention that this is fun?
