so, its a pretty newbie question but i understood how special and magic skills work and all but what about the "none" type? how does it work?


i tryed googling it up but nothing showed

it doesn't - it means that the skill has no type, which means that unless there is an override the player will never be able to use it.


Two of those overrides are the attack and guard commands for skill #1 and #2 - by default there are no other overrides (they can be created by command manager plugins) and the NONE-skills are only available to enemies (who don't use skill types.


Other than that, you can define your own skill types in the types tab of the database.

ok just one more, if i add a NONE skill to a weapon will i be able to use it?

no - the actor cannot use NONE skills in any way unless a plugin enables that by placing overrides.


How do you think the player would access the skill? he has to select a skill type on the battle command screen, and "NONE" will never appear there.


If you don't want to use magic and special, simply make your own skill types in the database - you can have up to 99 skill types, but the default engine cannot access skills set to NONE.

i see, thank you.


i was wondering if i could use those directly as a command like attack without removing attack, but its ok my project doesnt require such things.

As I told you, that is what the command manager plugins have been written to do.


It just is impossible by default, but not by use of a plugin.
