THE FIRST EPISODE HAS BEEN REVAMPED WITH MORE AWESOMENESS! NOW ON GAMEJOLT AND ITCH

Story/Plot
A lowly slime barely survives an encounter with an adventurer and limps(?) his way home. He's mad about his lot in life as just an exp grab for some dimwitted noob with a dream. He's tired of the oppression from those wandering brutes and their swords and spells.

He decides to fight back and create a safe place for slimes of all kinds to ooze about their lives. This is his story...

Setting
You know the basic trope. A mob decides to be a hero, after some kind of miraculous event. But THIS time, it's a slime determined to make a safe space for him and his. The world is just like any RPG world with heroes, demon kings, dragons, etc and our gooey little friend has to overcome them all. He'll need some help to avoid being a smear on some adventurer's boot. Can he recruit a strong enough team to accomplish his almost impossible goal?

SLIMES come in many different forms, based on environment/element:

Snots: Poison
Nectars: Healing
Magmas: Fire
Clays: Earth
Cubes: Ice
Mosses: Plant
Custards: Lightning
Gels: Water
Meringues: Air
Slags: Metal

Game Mechanics/Features

Synchronicity/Synergy affects most aspects of the this game. As you gather Party members, growing closer to them helps unlock many great benefits:

-Synergy Charge: When two or more party members have a high enough affinity, they can unleash a powerful burst that gives a boost to skills and attacks.

-Synchro Skills (element): party members can gain skills that are of another member's element.

-Fusions: All slimes can fuse together and with other creatures.

Other Features

-Equippable Talents: Sometimes enemies will give you skills that you can equip your Party with.

-Expanding Map: The more members you recruit, the bigger your kingdom grows.

-Uniquely quirky characters that you can recruit in many different ways

-A unique Web Comic-like style!

-Side-scrolling Maps: Because THEY'RE COOL!

-Sideview Battle System: Best fit for a game like this, IMHO...

CHARACTERS
These are seen throughout the First Episode.

A new character is ready for the 1st Episode. His name is Bagician.

He serves a special function in the game and just might join you... for the RIGHT PRICE!

Also: I will be putting this game out in episodes with Ep. 1 coming up soon! Hope you'll enjoy it!

Just a quick glimpse of the Synergy Charge system in battle. When Party Members have a high enough affinity, they can unleash a burst of energy that powers up their attacks/skills (See Original Post).

Hey Gang! I'm back and still continuing the good work!

I'm looking to upgrade the text windows for this game. I'm using Galv's Message Styles and I have two options:

1.

Msg with the Face in it...

2.

Msg and then I make the character express their feeling.

Any ideas are welcomed! Thanks and have a good one!

After taking some time to gather up the right plugins and revamping some things, I can Happily Say the this First Episode is COMPLETE! Going forward, these changes will be the STANDARD for all subsequent Episodes. Now I can concentrate on story, character, world building, etc.:LZScheeze::LZSsmile::LZScheeze:

First, I changed the size of the party member character sheets. Now, granted they are a little close, but not as they don't look like they're absorbing each other when you have followers on.

Second, I added Gifts and a party switch event system. I wanted to add some cool abilities that would be a benefit to the party and add something cool to the game. I was looking for a party switch script call and couldn't really get help with it. I did find something that I was able to use HERE!

Third, I got two plugins to help with the dialogue and look of the game. I'm using Galv's Message Styles and one from a fellow dev on Discord.

So that's the gist of this post. I'll be working towards the next chapter soonish!

Soon back to "engine study" I guess. Depending on the future plugin need.
New engine announced. Meanwhile I'm still here finishing a project in ACE.
I'm happy to learn a new system. Even if it doesn't meet my needs, it's something to help support the developer and see more people enter into game making industry.
I think I'll stick with MV for now - my next big entertainment purchase is already made: Rust on PS4 babbbyyyy!
Great, now that I am finally motivated again to work on my project, a new RPG Maker comes out. A part of me wants the new Maker to be really good, and the other part wants it to flop so I won't be enticed to abandon all of my work. The dream would be if you could convert your project somehow.
