Slow TP Drain as you walk?

It’s me again with another obscure query!

Now that I’ve effectively rebroke my game’s ammo system (I got the laptop working, yay!), I’m taking a much needed break.

So, this time oh sage ones, is it possible to have TP drain like 1 point every so many steps, assuming your allowing TP to carry over from battle to battle of course.

The idea is to allow players to use their TP skills more often if they get into multiple battles, either purposefully or accidentally. TP is Adrenaline here, and provides different tactical options, but also has an Adrenaline Rush ability that I feel would be helpful if a player was having a really hard time. I was planning on this Adrenaline Rush using all of your Adrenaline, which makes sense in my head.

Now, if you stay out of battles, you calm down and Adrenaline will also decrease. I *can* do without it, but I’m just wondering if its possible.

This is the forum for conceptual discussion of mechanics, rather than how to specifically implement them in a given engine, but since your profile says "VXA" I'll assume that's what you're talking about. I believe you can just assign two traits to a character- Preserve TP so it stays, and TP Regeneration of -1% (or -whatever%) to make them steadily lose TP. This should apply every turn in combat, and every step on the map.

It'd look something like this:

'Game Mechanics Design' is for looking at aspects of game play at a conceptual level. "How do I...?" (implementation) questions belong in the Support forum for the engine you are using.

Sorry about that! I thought I was in the other forum. >.<

Thanks @Doktor_Q ! I’ll see if losing 1 Adrenaline per step will work out. But there’s other ways to heal Adrenaline besides normal combats so it should work out. :D

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
