Smithing -- Simply Upgrade Your Weapon

    Edit:

    Any chance this might be negative effecting the optimize function too? When I hit optimize in my equip screen, it always defaults to the modified item. I'm guessing the upgraded items need to be included in optimize_equipments or something like that?

    Hey, I've been trying to add this script to my game and it works like a charm when there's just the three example upgrade paths, but when I try to add my own, I get the following error:

    Script 'richter_h's Smithing' line 304: NoMethodError occured.

    undefined method 'next_weapon_id=' for nil:NilClass

    When I go into the script, it's showing this part:

    I'm wanting to have eight different upgrade paths, so if there's any way to update/fix the script so I could do that, I'd be truly grateful.

    Firstly, sorry if I replied way too long; I didn't maintain the scripts since I took a place in the forum project...


    And then,

    Sadly for this script you're only have one upgrade path; it's linear and can't be branched no matter how. Well, it can be considered once I finish the forum project, but it'll take a long time :( sorry, then.

    I'm not understanding how to apply that last bit you said, the "smith scene" thing, also I get this error message:

    "script 'Smithing' line 313: TypeError occurred.

    superclass mismatch for class weapon"

    Please check the forum this script is in - it is a script for VX, but according to your profile you're using VX Ace.
    The two are not compatible - a script for VX can only be used in VX, not in Ace.

    Is there an easy way to make the script show all weapons from the inventory rather than what is on equipped on the player?

    There is the same script which written by TheoAllen, based on this script. You might want to check it out, too.

    Sadly no. This script was designed to upgrade the currently equipped weapon instead of those stored in inventory. I have no plan of adding that feature in near future since the script was obsolete and need tweaks in the some parts, also the Socketing feature isn't implemented yet.

    By the way, the base idea of this script was the weapon upgrade system of Suikoden, where the weapons are fixed in each character. 

    Well, it's been a while since I do some scripts. If there's enough time I'll finish this script but since VX is obsolete nowadays...

    I tried adding a 4th weapon but an error shows 'next_weapon_id='
    I also tried editing the script with but no luck.
