When I embarked on my epic seven-year quest, I endeavored to chronicle the ordeal virtually every step of the way. As you can imagine, the end result is... massive. Early on, I estimated that my project would take "1.3 years" to complete. HAHAHAHA, I didn't know what I was in for... but it was such an enriching experience, it was totally worth it! My game matured with me, and I with it. There was really a sort of mystical/creative symbiosis in that regard... it's difficult (if not impossible) to adequately describe.
But I really think that the journal helped me to form an even deeper attachment to my project. Sometimes I would use it to mull over new ideas, or vent stress, or just ramble incessantly. And of course, I used it to track my overall progress. It contains a fair bit of my own personal sentiments, as well. It was almost like... a friend that I could just talk to anytime, to work out the issues I was dealing with or to immortalize my inspiration and excitement. I even wrote (err, typed) some prayers in there when I was really desperate. A few times, I looked back over my progress and highlighted the high points. I gave myself a lot of pep talks, too... lots of pep talks.
In any case, I look forward to chronicling my progress for my future projects!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
