@Tuomo L It might be more civil to say something like they're incorrect or it's bugged, rather than the inflammatory "blatant lie!"

There are enough other things detailed in this thread that don't work correctly that it's a perfectly fair assumption that it's simply bugged in some way.

Actually, to be able to remove that "Development Build" part that comes from Unity itself doesn't get that easily removed, since it gets inserted at the same position regardless of a resolution. You have to really get out of your way to be able to make Unity get confused where to draw that. Under normal circumstances, it shouldn't even be possible.

It's been noted a lot of places, but it's because the publisher who hosts this site did not publish Unite.

I keep on hearing that there's no support for Unite. I wonder if support is more active in the Japanese community? GGG may not have enough staff who's proficient in Engilsh, I am guessing.

I'm one of those who bought the package but is just letting it sit there for now. (and too lazy to get a refund) I would recommend not buying until more improvements, which might be 1 year or two.

I think a lot of us here aren't bashing Unite on purpose. In fact, I had so much hope for it and wanted to write glowing reviews for it. Unfortunately, it proved such a disappointment. I do hope it gets better.

Unite is not supported on this forum, but it does have its own support forum.
However GGG has ... questionable ... ideas about what support means. For example even before Unite was available their main community site officially stated that "Community is user helping users, GGG will not answer community posts".

And that support forum is for both english AND japanese, and the few japanese reviews I google translated basically tell that the japanese/chinese get as much support as the english community there...

It tends to be like that. At least from my experience the only dev teams that had actually engaged with their users/players was Bethesda (mainly the guy that created the scripting language and before the official boards from the 2010's shut down) and Larian Studios(before Divine Divinity stop being a big thing, and the DE was never updated beyond the first version of DD).

All the others it'll be either little support, only supporting the native players, or no support for all.

For that last one, it's a daunting feeling. At the start, nobody knows or understands how to do anything and, the ones with the answers wont answer. It's just trial and error for days until eventually people have eureka moments, but that's a frustrating hill to climb for sure.

That's not questionable, that's just outsourcing tech support to the users, same as leaving feature development to community-made plugins

Unity already has features for isometric maps:

If Unite uses Unity's own tiling system then I don't see why not.

If Unite has its own tiling system then I don't know. :LZSlol: I sure hope we can choose between Unity's tiling system and RPG Maker system.

Before I buy Unite I want to know is if this is possible.

Unity has the isometric features, NOT Unite.

One of the biggest negatives of Unite is that it uses almost nothing of Unity and makes it difficult to add those Unity features to itself. It is basically a completely new UI that only uses Unity for launching.

I haven’t been in the community for long, I only got into it a bit ago. During my entire stay, I remember hearing about RPG Maker Unite coming out soon, but not getting many updates on it. Steam says it’ll be out this year (?), and it looks promising! But I was wondering, what do you all think of it? Does this normally happen with new RPG maker releases? Do you think you’ll get it? etc…

Meh, from what everyone else on here has been saying RPG Maker Unite doesn't look that good. In fact it's more of a spin-off of RPG Maker than a new engine. And it's...not that good. I kind of would recommend you don't get it, but probably to get a full picture you should talk to other users on here. Personally I don't think it's good.

@Ragnar0k This community is quiet about unity bc a) It's not published by the company that operates this forum/publishes the other makers, so it doesn't have a place here. B ) It has it's own Forum separate from this. C) Responses to it since it's original release seems to middling at best.

it has already been out a few months on the Unity Store, and the response was ... underwhelming...

The reviews basically stagnate at 2-stars, with at least two of the higher ratings that compensate the many 1-stars being the developers themselves, and very slow responses to the problems listed (although they have released updates by now)

In my opinion it has a lot of good ideas, but the execution is rather bad - for example they basically disabled most of the Unity features in Unite, only using Unity as a launch platform but not as a tool.

So this will effect unite and also GGG. If you're using Unite I'd look into the new pricing model. A lot of unity people are jumping ship.
I was literally just about to bring that up. I can see this **** being rolled back (or at least the Unity Tax part) unless 1: Steam, Itch etc. raise or require a sales cut to cover this added cost, or 2: Unity pulls an Epic and opens up its own game store to compensate for a runtimes ban. Either way, I'm pretty sure that this is going to backfire on them real quick.

Is there a How it started/How it's going meme summary of Unite? I just checked their official forums and it's a mess (no separation between Japanese and English sections) and not very active. The most active subforum is the feedback section and its last post was 12 days ago.
