(solved) Controls locked after summoning Airship

I want to make a "Summon Airship" command, as seen here.

When I press PageDown, the Airship spawns and the Player lifts off, so far so good. Then I cannot control it, arrow keys are not working and I cannot land. But, I still can open the menu. When I get on the Airship the ordinary way, everything works fine.

Blank project, no Common Events, other Events, or Plugins active.

I'm not sure, but it might be because the conditional branch overrides the options on keyboard check by checking for the pagedown.

however if that is the case it is easy to circumvent and test: you don't have to test for that button sixty times per second as no player can press the button that fast.
so simply add a wait(10) before or after the primary conditional branch, that way you only check for page down six times per second and allow the regular controls the rest of the time.

and next time, please post the entire event window - especially if the tip above doesn't help, because there are a few other possibilities I can't check due to missing event parts.

Adding a Wait worked, but it wasn't smooth. Sometimes hits were not triggered correctly. But your post made me think in the right direction. I changed the Conditional into "is being triggered" and removed the wait; now it works!

that is usually an indicator of the wrong number of waits, and the reason why you have to experiment to find the correct number (which could be both higher or lower because that effect can describe two different causes for lag).
just as info for the next timing proble since you solved this with a different way.

Something about top-downs.
I have never felt so attacked by a tree before :LZSlol: it took 10++ hours to make but at least it looks pretty LOL

now seems like the worst time for me to need a better computer with how much stuff is costing. that and I don't thing there's much else I can do to make MV run any better with what I have.
Sigh... to have some variety in this weather. More than just sun and rain and wind and thunder.
In the meantime, I've discovered that I'm slowly becoming fatigued from the many sleepless nights my neighbors cause. Or at least their dogs. Always barking at something.
I might need a day to just sleep and recharge.
