I'm trying to make it to where you can get a party member by paying for them. The only problem is I don't know how to make it to where if you don't have the money you can't get them added. If it helps my case I'm very new to rpgmaker.
I'm also using RPG Maker MV.

On the first tab of the event command menu is 'Conditional Branch'. Select that. On the fourth tab of the various conditions you can set is 'Gold'. Select that and set the amount of money they need to have. Then do all the party adding stuff, not forgetting to decrease their gold by that amount. In the 'Else' part, you put what you want to happen if they don't have enough money.

As you are new, I suggest you work through Andar's excellent compilation of info for new users. In particular, check out the link to the playable tutorial on Events. Although it was done for Ace, MV works in the same way. Spending some time on this now will save you huge amounts of time and frustration in the future.

THANK YOU! I've moved to RPGMaker from batch coding and was trying to recreate events from my batch games. Your advice should help me a lot. Thanks again!

I set up a conditional branch to pay tribute to a shrine. It works with this set up, takes the right amount of gold only if you have it. but after a dialogue pops up with one digit selector, and i can't figure out why it's showing up and it wont close. Help!

This is the dialogue box that comes up and let's me choose a number but never goes away and comes from nowhere after the conditional branch takes the gold.

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? No-one c
So I was playing with filters and this looked interesting...

Versus the normal look...

Kind of gives a very different feel. :LZSexcite:
To whom ever person or persons who re-did the DS/DS+ asset packs for MV (as in, they are all 48x48, and not just x2 the pixel scale) .... THANK-YOU!!!!!!!!! XwwwwX
