Hi all,
I was hoping someone might be able to shed some light on this. I've been trying to fix this issue with no avail for over 4 hours.
I'm trying to make footstep sounds according to region tag on my map. At first I tried the Yanfly Footsteps sounds plugin: http://yanfly.moe/2017/05/26/yep-138-footstep-sounds-rpg-maker-mv/
but it didn't seem to work for me. It was a little complex so I thought maybe I was messing up the instructions somehow.

So I googled some tutorials and found a tutorial on how to use the Yanfly Region Events plugin:
http://yanfly.moe/2015/10/19/yep-17-region-events/
which seemed a little easier so I decided to use that. However, even after following the tutorial I still couldn't seem to get any sound effects to play in the play test.

So I started a brand new project. Here's exactly what I did:
Set my main map to indoor tileset.
Covered screen in wood floor tiles.
Enabled the Region events plugin (There is only Community_Basic, MadeWithMV, and Region Events plugins in the manager, in that order)
Adjusted the parameters of the plugin so that Region 1 = 1
Opened Common Events.
Added Play SE :Move1 (50,100,0) to contents on event 1
Covered entire map with region 1 tags
Hit Test Play.
No sounds play when moving.

I went over a couple tutorials and I'm not sure what I'm missing. Either I'm missing something so simple that it wasn't mentioned in the tutorial or something is wrong.
If anyone is familiar with this plugin I would greatly appreciate any thoughts.

Looks like I only needed another hour to figure it out. When I download the file from Yanfly's site, it downloads with an "_" after the file name. I'm not sure why it does that as deleting this seems to make the plugin work properly. So this is sort of solved?

The parameters of any plugin are read based on the name of the plugin, and the name has to be exactly correct. So if there was an extra "_" in the Region Events file name, then that would explain why it didn't work at first.

I tested downloading the Region Events plugin from the "English Dropbox" link and it was fine, which link did you download it from?

I downloaded it from the English Dropbox. It seems to be adding an underscore to all of my downloads, however this is only a recent thing. I was downloading plugins from his site a few days ago and it was fine.

Could be a strange setting on dropbox, that sounds like it could be annoying. Well, as long as you can keep an eye out for it, should be OK to remove the extra character and the plugins should work fine.
