Specific Battle Members

Hello;


My game has a invocation system that allow players to use monster in the party. Yet I would like to limite the number of monster the player can have at same time in party. Is there any plugin or evented system that allow me to tag some characters and make a allowed party pool.


Ex: Party system with 6 members. Any number of humans, but only 3 monster can be used at same time.


PS: I'm not using any kind of monster-actor plugin (They are fully function actors).


PS2: I'm using Yanfly party/row system so a unconflited (<- Does this word exist?) way would be great.

you could do it with javascript, but this is the kind of thing you should leave to eventing, depending on how you recruit new party members.


whenever you add a monster to your party, increment a variable. when you remove a monster, decrement it.


then just disallow adding more monsters if you're at the limit.

I dont think that would worb bc the game has: 6 humans and 12 monster and the player can matchup then as he see fit (using party system), if I disable the party system when the monster hit the treashoulder, then the humans will be forbid to be changed too.


... or I'm missing something. oO

Using the basic add member. After that the player will use Yanfly Party system to put then in the battle party. The player will have all 18 (6 humans and 12 non-human) at same time, but he can only include 3 non-human in the battle party.

If you weren't using Yanfly's Party plugin, then this is all done before you use the Change Party Member: Add ____.


But because you are using Yanfly's Party plugin, then you need to modify the plugin.


The idea remains the same, though. Whenever a monster is added from the "overall party" to the "battle party", you increase a variable. Whenever a monster is removed from the "battle party", you decrease the same variable. And when deciding to enable/disable the selection choice of a party member, check whether the party member is a monster and if the variable is above the limit.

Yep. Thats a big no-no simple a lack the scripting know-how.

I found a nice script and I'm trying using the logic with variables that you described:


The script allow me to run commom events soo I'm making the summon temporary and add into a variable when I recruit a monster and reducing when he leaves the party. Yet the only problem I see is that yanfly didint port his commom event shop to mv and I cant find any replacement to that.


I'm still doing the system as a write it, but if I understand the logic behind the use of variables, that should work. I hope.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
