Would it be possible to have keybinds that trigger certain actions in battle?
e.g. Pressing "D" would trigger an attack.
Pressing "G" would open up the skills menu.
Pressing "H" would open up the magic menu.
(These are just examples, they aren't the exact keybinds I would like).

Oh, and it would be cool if it would be compatible with gamepads.
I hope I'm not asking for too much, although I probably am.

I've actually been on the hunt for a battle hotkey plugin for awhile now, so it would be nice if you could share, @Trihan .
I know I would be very appreciative of having that functionality, and I'm certain the OP would be as well :LZSwink:

At the moment this particular one is intrinsically woven into the battle HUD plugin so you'd get all the hex stuff along with it and the bits that are specifically coded for Star Knightess Aura, but I'll put a standalone version of it with just the hotkey functionality on my list.

I can do one that's MV-compatible, that isn't a problem. Under the hood in the battle system there's very little difference.

The game has key rebinding as well, yes. And the help text shows the current binding (and also controller icons if you're using one).

As for when...I'm not entirely sure. I have a lot on right now, but I'll try to make it a priority.

Not yet, I've had a lot of commissions to do lately as money is extremely tight and I can't afford to do anything but work on other people's stuff right now. :p

While you're waiting for Trihan to finish his plugin, this should be doable by using a parallel common event with a bunch of if statements to check for the different button presses. Set a switch to enable it during an actor's turn and turn the switch off after an action is selected.

This plugin will let you run parallel common events in battle. The plugin file has English instructions

But just to clarify your requirements here, are you always going to want the same inputs or do you need that to be remappable?

Honestly you could probably charge for this plugin as I've seen a couple people asking for it, there doesn't appear to be competition, and it's used in popular games like Persona.

Valid point. Only problem with my chargeable plugins is that I always have to offer a free version too or I can't advertise them on the forums, and I'm not sure what I could leave out of the free version that would make a premium one worth buying.
