Ok I am getting to the point where I really want to go through my projects text with a fine tooth comb. I have to ask the experts here. Is there really no other way but to pore through all of the text ingame line by line? It makes little to no sense to me that this would be the case. As it is a needlessly tiring and headache inducing task. (I'm not even sure why there is no spell checker built into the engine.)

I checked the plugin master list and there doesn't seem to be anything that exports the text to a file or correlates it in a place that's easy to read either. I feel like I really MUST be doing something wrong here. It can't be this laborious sureley?

If your texts are in Maps, these can be read as Text files, preferably with an Editor such as Notepad ++ (not with a word processor...). The 'Common Events' can be edited in the same way. These files are to be found in the 'data' folder. Great care has to be taken if editing these files; it would be best to practise first on a copy, and in any case make a back-up of the files before attempting any modifications. With care, then, spell-checking can be done. It's not as simple as 'modern' on-line editors, but at least it's not predictive text, either, and so won't add spurious words in your stead..!

Hope this helps.

There is no spell check in any of the RPG Makers. What you can do is type the script up in a word processing program such as OpenOffice or Microsoft Word, spellcheck it there, and then paste it into your game. That's all I've got. \-0_0-/

This won't help much and I apologize for that.

I type up all of my dialogue in a text editor before it makes its way into the game for those reasons. That way I have a database of my dialogue and it's already (for the most part) been double checked by the bit gods.

As to my knowledge, I know of no way to spell check in the MV editor.

Hah .. thanks for the answers guys .. even if I don't be liking it very mooch XD. I guess it's academic anyway as I recently fiddled with the text box and the font size .. And now I have to go back and make sure everything lines up right anyway. I must admit it is a bit frustrating that simple things like spell checking and the ability to move the guide ruler in the text box aren't in after so many versions of the engine. I could see that spell checking might be an expensive addition. But moving the guide ruler? Unless there IS a way to at least do that XD?

there are some export plugins if I remember correctly, and you might try to find and use then (I don't have any links and don't remember if they are already available or still in development).

However, they will only export, not re-import, and nothing can do a spellcheck there.

One alternative however:

Some advanced text editors (like textpad for example) can handle multiple files at the same time, and search and check over them.

You can use them to open a copy of all json files at the same time, and then search or check through them.

Still a lot of work as the json contain both the texts and the data, but better than checking every event manually.

Hmm .. well honestly I just think I'm going to paste everything into my wp after I write it to spellcheck it from now on XD. It's better than having to hunt down all this damn text XD.

Also guess who just discovered the word wrap plugin.

While I am happy beyond measure to have this functionality I wish I had found it when I started the project XD.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
