Wow 20 days to make a game with 1h gameplay, thats going to be difficult.

@Aerosys It doesn't necessarly need to be 1 hour gameplay. " Gameplay up to one hour will be judged." means that if your game is 2 hours long, they will only play an hour.

@Jrrkein That's fine:

The game must be horror themed. (Horror theme does not mean it needs to be a horror game, or even scary.)

@slimmmeiske2 and @Touchfuzzy, Is the idea of the acceptable?
The paranormal team investigates the haunted house. It is a simple game lol. I think it is ok since Touchfuzzey is yes almost everything lol.

@slimmmeiske2, I afraid of this clause: "We reserve the right to disqualify any entry at our own discretion." lol That is why we play safe than sorry.
It is probably nothing, but just double-checking hehe.

Ah it's just still the same question/issue cuz then they can only participate in one gamejam assuming they haven't already used/started their free trial then if they can't afford it they are out of luck anyways aa- Which results in a paywall to participate.

I have friends who can't afford luxuries right now for example because they can't get the hours (if they still have a job) and they just put in new restrictions on workplaces here, covid is still hitting us pretty hard.

@Riazey Nothing's stopping you or your friends from making a horror game in MV, you just won't be eligible for the prizes.

If you really want to enter a jam, there are other halloween game jams going on right now on itch and even RMN.

Is it not possible you can find a team to work with where someone owns MZedd? Only one other person on our team (beside myself) owns it, but we're all working together anyways.

I'm gonna go try and dust out the cob webs on my Spooky Peanut Butter and add it to this Jam. That One Map Challenge pushed me to fully release something last time so this will push me again, and I also just want an excuse to use the word Spooky.

Ah that wasn't the original question, was just whether there was a reason other than promoting/making more MZ sales that it was locked to MZ~ Which is a good business move but just on hard times, so was curious!
