Hello. I've been having issues with an overworld sprite. Despite following tutorials, it gets weirdly clipped, as seen on screenshots.

Like slim said 4 rows 3 columns! However while MV only uses 3 normally there are plugins that can increase it to 4, but this is just for a smoother walking effect if you want it! :kaopride:

MV only allows 3 character columns, but you can change that using plugins.
I really reccommend Galv's Character Frames which can be found here :3

I'm pretty sure I've seen character sprite sheets with names like "!$ActualName(6)" that RPG Maker animated correctly in 6 steps. I tried to figure out how exactly it works, so while you are helping @Nervundi , what's up with those naming formats and would they work for player/party characters as well?

@Blueworx This thread explains sprite construction and the naming conventions. That being said, anything more than the 3x4 spritesheet requires a plugin to properly work. There are "more frames" plugins available.

Revamped the crew for my VN about thirty times. Only character that's stayed constant has been the fungus character. Guess it really grew on me...
