[SPRITES] SOJ's Character Sprites

Hi! I'm SonofJay, you can call me JayJay or just SoJ and please, oh please, shoot that other name that is lingering in your brain out.

Anyway, I'm fairly new on pixel art so the quality of my works are still not that good but I already made a couple of character sprites and looking forward on drawing more.

Terms of use:

-I only allow my works for non-commercial games right now since I'm still not that good. If you're not using it for RPG Maker please message me first before using it, I wanna know where you're using it for. For RPG Maker users feel free to use it without my consent but if you like it also feel free to notify me.

-Feel free to credit me. JayJay, SonofJay or SOJ is fine, and NO! You can't credit me on that name that just crawled back into your brain.

Note:

-I'm not taking request since I'm still learning.

-When I'm importing other sprites on RPG Maker before I noticed that the image must be on a specific place on the image if you wanna use it properly. I have no idea how that works so I'm pretty sure that you'll have to edit the sprite sheet first before you can use it. If someone is kind enough to provide an edited version of the sprite sheet, I'll be really thankful.

-I'm looking forward on adding more on this showcase so feel free to keep an eye on my thread.

-I can only work full time on this on weekends since I'm busy, probably 1 or 2 per weekend and probably 1 if I find time on weekdays.

-Suggestions, criticism and humble opinions are always welcome to help me improve!

Its my first work, Sharm helped me improved it by giving suggestions. I'm quite happy how it turned out.

Last Update: Changed eye colors of the sprite sheet to red. The gif are still blue since I'm lazy to fix them.

I always loved trench coat specially on games so I tried one. I hope it looks okay to you guys.

Wow these are some pretty nice sprites

Try adding a $ before the name of your sprites when importing them into rpg maker.

Also it could just be me but on your second sprite when Rhei is facing down her eyes turn red.

These are very good for your first attempts.

There is one thing that struck me, and that is the shadows.  

On the first sprite, looking at the down pose, there is always a shadow between her feet.  None on the left and right poses, and then on the up pose there is a shadow for the middle, but not when she is actually stepping.  I think you need to be consistent on this.  My personal preference is the second sprite where there are no shadows.  To have shadows under a person but not to the side of them always looks odd, I think.

@Neo. I made the front facing first then took a break before doing the others, totally forgot that the eyes were suppowe to be red. I'll fix it later when I get back home.

@KSJP. That is actually not a shadows, that is the gray piece of the armor on the front facing pose xD. I can just remove it if its disturbing.
