State obtained after a certain amount of damage

Hello again this question might be simple but I cant figure it out. So one of my characters obtains a certain state once he reaches

20% of his total health. Think of it as in pokemon when certain pokemon get stat increases when their health goes down to a pinch.  And mind you its not all characters just one character. So how would I go about doing this? Thanks! :D

Is this only in battle, or is it also if that character's HP is dropping because of being inflicted with e.g. poison, or is taking terrain damage?

Then one way of doing it - and this may not be the best way - would be to have a conditional branch in each troop page, with the condition set to Turn No. 1*X and Span set to turn, which checks that character's HP.  When it reaches 20% of MHP, inflict state.

Try these scripts out, they may be a bit less leg work:

Yanfly's Base Troop Events

This uses the same concept above, but you only have to put it into one troop (Troop 1) and it will apply to every battle in your game.

Victor's Auto States or Moon's Auto States

Both are discussed in this topic: http://www.rpgmakervxace.net/topic/1713-request-auto-states-solved/

These are used to automatically apply states immediately when state conditions are met. Victor's has more support and customization. Moon's is pretty basic but very functional, the downside is that it only bases off of player parameters, and you can only do it based on concrete integers, not variables/equations.

Ok thank you :) . I 'll check them out. I'm surprised I overlooked that Yanfly script. I use a lot of his work
