Hello, I was wondering, what is the Steam Cloud feature supposed to do? Whenever i've tried it, I click the Upload To Cloud button, and RPG Maker stops responding.

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, I couldn't find a Steam one.

It uploads to the workshop it does lock up just don't click it, seems the app is not threaded this means actions that talk to servers or other blocking actions will lock up the app don't click it and leave it it WILL work I also program in another tool that is not threaded and this also happens its a few limitations to scripting tools that are wrapped up like this at times.

Ok. I have Windows 8.1, so when it says it's not responding, it's actually uploading? Because then I could just leave it there for a while.

Yep, it said to me too, that it doesn't respond. But after a half hour+ it was done. :D
The file was only 150 MB. :/
On Google Drive it took only 3 minutes to upload. Steam Workshop is super slow the first time. -.-
After that it updates it everytime you save your game, but took only a few seconds up to 1 minute. ;)
But even so, it makes saving and testplay a test to your patience. :D (\s/)

Yes like I said this is because the software is not multi threaded and on top of that steam workshop is slow, so because steam is slow to respond and the app can't do anything until the task is complete it will lock up, RPG Maker would of done better making this option a second small tool so we could still use RPG maker but sadly not :(

Not sure if that is technical possible. Because it could mess up your save. ;)

A pretty good example is the really bad My Little Pony app for iOS. :/

Gameresets every one or two day. You can be lucky if your savefile survives a whole week. :D (\s/)

I think that it's not because of the threading (maybe it does to a degree, I can't say for sure), but how the editor handles the task. Normally (or at least on other games and software that has Workshop support) they have a download manager (or something similar). Here, there's northing to handle that and as such, it has to hang itself as it does the work. Not only that, it also can't seem to decide if it wants to use Steam's built-in downloader to receive workshop content or not. Another thing is that Steam will start sync it up with your cloud after saving and closing the editor.

The editor would lock out that one game from editing so you could still do others its very possible I am a program in other platforms what use scripting languages just like this and have the very same problem with HTTP calls the most and other blocking functions, a blocking function needs to really be in its own space so making it threaded is the main way or creating another process to handle it I guess this really this is another way to thread lol.

I am slowly working on a Blank none rtp demo on steam workshop so maybe one day I might see if I can create a tool to upload to them, depends on there API really.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
