I definitely do. I plan on submitting my project as it should be mostly done by the time Greenlight goes live in late August.

I'm glad Valve is opening up the process for adding games into the Steam Libraries, it's going to be awesome for indie developers!

Well, what Greenlight does is it allows the community to vote for your game. If it's popular, Steam will put it through the approval process. Being popular doesn't mean your game will be sold on Steam. Because you can still fail the approval process. But if you pass, then your game will be on Steam. So it's definitely a great way of narrowing the search field for Steam's team on getting more games on the service.

Has anyone ever tried to submit an RPG Maker game to Steam? Somehow I don't think it would meet their specifications for packaging. I don't know though; I don't know what their specifications are. I just assume that its not just "Send us a ZIP file and we'll do the rest!"

The game is from Freebird games and is called To The Moon. I think that it has been several months ago that the developper announced that steam accepted his game but until now, it has not appeared. Maybe Steam rejected it at the last moment.

Looks like I have a good place to promote my project once it's done.

Wait a second, don't you have to install some of Steam's UI stuff into your game.

I'm not sure how you incorporate that into a game that relies on Ruby code.

Then again, I could be wrong.

Yeah, I don't see an RPG Maker game being released on Steam mostly because you can't really compile it yourself, meaning you can't incorporate their features (Steam talk or what ever it is, achievements, just to name a few) directly into the game. It would also need the ability to authenticate with the steam servers and all that.

Yes, Steam have APIs that you will need to implement into your game.

From what I read it seemed like you have the option but if not then that just ruined my plans...

My plan is to get my next game (which I've been planning for over two years) on to steam and hopefully my company will gain some fame and get enough sales to where I can be a full time indie developer.

Thanks, hopefully it is just optional. If not you probably could hire someone to convert the code to ruby. :)

Those features you listed aren't required, although they are encouraged. (Except for perhaps the authentication, but either way, it's possible to get your game on Steam if it's fun enough.

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:
Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
