I believe the key is automatically tied to your steam account... so download RM from steam and run it from there...
What is RM on Steam? I only use RPG Maker VXA, Skyrim & Doom 3 off line mode. I don't go into Steam really at all.

RM=RPG Maker. He's saying you should try running it once through the steam launcher so it can validate the license.

you don't need or get a key from the steam version. If it's running then everything is OK.

If you open up your launcher it's under software, not games, in the library section.

That is sometimes possible, but you have to write a support ticket asking for one - it is not automatic, and it needs to be decided by Degica, not on the forum.

I just thought that I should let you all know that on Steam with the workshop, it will update the RPG Maker VX Ace to the workshop edition and then RPG Maker VX Ace no longer loads or works properly and it also closes out steam.

Not for everyone.

Some people seem to have issues, but not everyone. It IS slower because the program and steam are in constant communication.

common possible causes of problems:

Firewalls and/or Anti-virus blocking the communication

Slow internet connection

From what I heard so far, this happens if there is a failed synchronisation with the workshop content, and it's usually cleared if you remove all workshop content, clear local cache/files and start again. It happens more often if you try to add a lot of the workshop content parts at the same time, it's better if you add only the parts you're really interested in, and only one or two at a time (wait for download to complete before adding the next)

One more time- where are downloaded resources stored on one's hard drive?

If you go to the manage projects window of the steam version, there is a button that will allow you to select a path to a folder for your projects.
The workshop resources will be downloaded into that folder.

The steam purchased resources will be in a different folder - that folder will be opened when you click on the "DLC" button in the resource manager. (Attention: if you do not yet have purchased resources, that button will not yet function on the (non-existent) DLC-Folder, but open the last RM folder. That will automatically be corrected as soon as the first purchased DLC is downloaded).

Non-Steam-Purchases from this site's shop will be downloaded by yourself to the place you selected.

Eh, thanks. I don't know yet whether I will buy any resources from Enterbrain (besides the XP soundtrack which I really like), but I'll try and remember that.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD

Yay, now back in action Happy Christmas time, coming back!

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? No-one c
