Stepping on something when an enemy is near triggers chase?

This is my first time posting here so i hope this makes makes sense!
I’m making a horror game.
I have an enemy with a custom route that it follows and what I want to happen is this,

When the player steps on an object that makes noise and the enemy is close enough to hear it (say 6… spaces away or something) the enemy changes off of its move route and chases the player.
I’ve looked into Yanfly's Chase player Plugin, but I haven’t seen anything involving an enemy with a move route for it. So I haven’t tried that yet, is there a way to do it with that?

Make the "thing" that the player steps on trigger a switch and on your enemy make a second page that has its trigger be that switch, set move route to approach frequency highest. Alternatively also have a parallel process somewhere that is also triggered by that same switch that waits X amount and then shuts off that switch. No need for a plugin this way.
