So, i'm tinkering with VX Ace and getting the hang of some basics but I can't find a battle system script that works the way I want. Does a script exist for a battle system similar to what's used in the Steven Universe RPGs? Essentially, a single party-wide ATB meter. When the meter fills up, you gain an action point. Character abilities cost action points to be used, and can be activated freely at any time as long as you have the action points.

I would be especially interested in being able to have individual character ATBs that fill a party AP resource over a party-wide ATB but either option is a great place for me to begin.

Thanks

Follow up: If this doesnt exist is there a resource for finding freelance script writers I could hire to make it.

If there is no script for what you're looking for (which there probably isn't, but I don't know much about public scripts), you can post a request to hire someone in the "Classified" section on this forum.

There might be creative ways to coax existing ATBs into doing what you want (kind of keeping the actions always available, and using the built-in ATB gauges to control AP), but I can't think of any way to do it offhand and in the end you'll probably need to do at least some custom scripting to make it work in an intuitive way.

Moghunter's ATB for is one of the better ATB scripts for Ace to start from, unless you want to start from scratch with your own.

Once you have a few dozen posts on this forum, the Commissions section will open up to you. That's one of the better places to hire people for paid custom work on your project, since all the coders there are intimately familiar with RPG Maker and tend to charge rates well below what most freelancers on the web would charge.

He mad, but he cute :kaopride:

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
