Still on intro scene- how to active a event such as text

ok how do I activate a talking scene I tried autorun and it worked until I put in the set move route to leave the shop.

depends on when you want that scene to happen, and you need a combination of conditions/switches with multiple event pages and different triggers.

If you want the scene to happen upon entering a new map the commands are different than from being triggered by a quest or by a timer, so please tell us when you want the scene to show up.

That's probably the reason for your problems - each of the solutions you might have found in the forum depnds on the context of that game, and you'll need to find one example that is similiar to your situation, not just something for general use.

After the event is done running (i.e. the text is done with), have the autorun event change to another page that is blank, except for the page's conditions. The conditions are usually set as one of the four available self-switches. Having the event switch to the new page will prevent it from looping repeatedly, which may be your problem.

I may not have explained it well enough. Ok heres whats going on I'm walking from the front of one door into a shop walking to the counter but when I get there the autorun on the npc won't activate the the text that I have programmed her to say.What happens is hero walks into store up to the counter waits then walks out but no dialogue.

I tried putting a switch in my move even and then putting a condition on my shop npc to switch it on but all that does is makes her not show up at all.

Then please post screenshots of all your event pages - we need to know what you did to find the bug in such a case.

Break the move route into two commands, one up to the wait(100) and one after that.

I assume that this wait is supposed to wait for the other event to give that text - that doesn't work:

Simply put the entire sequence of the show text commands from the shop girl into this event controlling the player, having that one display the dialogue and add the items. The shopgirl event should have no commands left in the content area after that.

There is no need to have the same events that display an NPC on the map also have the text commands - on the contrary it's rather difficult to coordinate several parallel processing events.

So you better put everything from a cutscene into one event - if you need to move other events/NPCs around then just do that by changing the focus/target of the moveroute command, but place all those commands into a single autorun event for the cutscene.

ummmm off topic but I got some resources from grandmadeb and when i import them and try to use them they don't show up right in the tileset space

You should have searched the forum for "import tileset", that questions usually gets answered two or three times a week ;-)

Basically you're setting the tile picture into the wrong slot of the tileset. For the tile slots A1 to A5 (which are autotiles) you need pictures in a very specific format. The regular tile pictures floating around in the internet go into the slots B to E. They don't display corretly if they go into A-slots.
