I have a short piece of dialogue where an NPC, who up until then has had random movement, turns towards the player, says something and then, after the player complies with the request (set movement route, move down), continues random walking.

Except, as we know, it doesn't work like that. The NPC will continue moving around, which, if the player takes more than a nano-second to read the dialogue and hit the action button, can make things look ridiculous. Normally it is just irritating, but in this particular case it is seriously annoying.

I had thought that turning Walking Animation OFF as part of the move route for the NPC would stop it, but it doesn't.

Does anyone know how to do this?
Thanks.

There is a script that turns off all event movement by switch - If I remember correctly it is one of Yanfly's scripts. Sorry, don't have the link

@Andar Your answer pointed me to an incredibly easy solution which just hadn't occurred to me until your comment about a switch. I'll put it here in case anyone else ever wants to know.

Second page conditioned by a switch I use for 'temporary' things only and which is fixed movement for the NPC.
Turn on during the move route which turns the NPC towards the player.
Turn off once the player has moved down.

It may not be elegant, but it is simple.

Thanks.
