Hey,
I'm somewhat new to RPG Maker, started with MV a week ago, and after playing for a week, testing mapping, plugins and co, I though about doing a text heavy rpg in this engine.
For once I want to learn to get better at RPG Maker. Furthermore, I though about doing this game completely in English, even though my English is lacking. Reasons being, that i hope to improve my English through making that game too.
My problem: I can't really check for myself how good the written stuff really is, so I'm looking for a native speaker with enough time to help me out there.

Synopsis:
The RPG will be in a medieval like setting. You start as ... well either male or female, you decide. You decide your name, backstory etc. And depending on the backstory you will have slightly different dialog or even get access to new quest and stuff. NPCs will react to what you choose to do in the past and may dislike/like and comment as such on it.

Enginge:
RPG Maker MV

Roles Needed:
Someone who can speak good English and has enough time to waste on my ****ty English :hswt:

I know there are sites like:
My problem with these is, that they change the meaning of sentences when correcting my English, so they kind of fail to do their job for me.

Considering that I'm new to RPG Maker, I can' really offer you something in return, since I'm no good at anything yet. I would keep it as a favour done and to be repaid in mind though.
I could also additionally name you in credits, in case i actually release it and it turns into more than a selfmade learning project.

You might get someone interested in working on your project with you, although the description is rather lacking to generate that kind of interest.

But I think the easier/more efficient thing to do might be to make your game. Then, once you have all of the text you'll need, look at proofreading and editing from there.

@ATT_Turan My worry was, that like giving someone 150 Word pages and to ask for proofread all at once feels kind of an ashole move i though. Thats why I wrote it now already.

I'd be willing to help... I'm not a native, but I'm practically bilingual, been at it since age 6.
but as Turan says, it's easier if you write everything down in whatever arrangement fits you best, and send the whole package over.
with everything written, it's easy to search for a specific word and find multiple paragraphs to check context.

(another thing I just thought of: measure the size of the text box, and write for that size. You only have 4 lines to write the whole point of a sentence. If you work around that, the translation can be adjusted so it won't exceed that limit)

Proofreading 150 pages at once actually isn't so bad--because the editor can read it all as one item, rather than broken up over time, they'll have a clearer idea of what the overall story progression is and why you might have chosen certain phrases in certain places. I always preferred editing complete drafts when I was a tutor, or at least complete scenes. Much easier to get good flow that way!

I don't have the free time to come on board for a long-term project right now, but if you do find yourself with a block of something like 150 pages that need editing down the line, give me a shout and if my schedule is open, I'd be happy to help you. Native English speaker, with editing experience, enjoys medieval fantasy!

Ohh.. so it's the other way around :D
Ok, thanks a lot for the feedback! Since having all at once seems to be the preferred option, I'll do that instead then.
@TeiRaven and @gstv87 i wrote myself a note with your names, I'll massege you when i got the thing or at least quite a bit of text ready to get looked at.

If I send you what I wrote, do you want it as a Word doc, or like a Demo of the game where all characters are, and one can go through them? Do you want like a little backstory note so you can have an image in your head what that dialog should sound like or any other thing which would make this easier for you?

Hey! I'm not sure if this position is available but I'd love to try it out. I'm a writer working on a few projects of my own and would love the experience.

An optimal price for an indie game on Steam also needs to be accompanied by an optimal sales discount %. For a solo indie game, I think the optimal price is where it should be low enough that a single Steam card can be used to buy it, after tax. A few cents the wrong direction can potentially mean someone who was gifted a Steam card can't buy the game, then picks something else to buy.
