Game Flavor: Fantasy & Mystery
Storybook is a series of games that I've been working on since RPG Maker VX's release, but this time, I decided that I will take it to the next step and bring my fictional universe of novels to life. This game will only be released to the public in RPG Maker MV (not VX or VX Ace). I am also planning to release an Android/iOS version of it as well so please stay tuned. This game will also feature a theme song that I wrote and composed.
Long long time ago, the Princess of Aum tragically died after a long illness. In his grief, the King commissioned his scholars to find a way to bring her back to life. The scholars discovered that the only way to bring her back to life was to rewrite the Book of Destiny. However, the King was warned by the scholars that rewriting the Book of Destiny was forbidden by the heavens and that doing so would result in unfathomable repercussions. The King went into his quarters and pondered for four days and three nights and ultimately decided to satisfy his altruistic desire to bring back his daughter.
The King rewrote the Book of Destiny to save his daughter and bring her back to life. When he finished, he realized that the heavens had not punished him for his actions... Upon realizing that the heavens' words were nothing more than a myth, he took the pen and rewrote the book to bring him vast riches and unmeasurable prosperity to his kingdom. Unsatisfied with just wealth, he rewrote the book to make himself the most powerful kingdom of all. And when he was done, he returned to his kingdom. All was well...
Or so he thought...
The king's generosity withered. Drunken with power and greed, the King reestablished his militia and waged war with the neighboring kingdoms. He killed countless women and children to get what he wanted and when his daughter confronted him, he ordered his knights to execute her. Outraged by the King’s actions, the people organized a rebellion to end the war and bring back peace to Aum once and for all. After the King was dethroned, the rebels buried the Book of Destiny in a secret shrine and pledged to never ever reveal where the book was stored nor ever attempt to rewrite anything ever again.

Caine Fidens (Monk)
A bookworm who accidentally transports himself to the Storybook world. After enduring a head injury, he journeys with Marion to Sage Guido’s house only to discover that Sage Guido has hastily ventured off into the Tal Mountains to the Shrines. Throughout his journey in Aum, he recollects bits and pieces of his memory and discovers his true identity – a real life human. To the people of Aum, he is the fabled hero of the heavens – the person who will save Aum from the darkness and recover the lost Book of Destiny. After the journey is over, he discovers that Marion is in love with him and has to choose whether or not to go back to the real world or stay with Marion for the rest of his life (if he chooses to stay, the portal to the Real Life World (heavens) closes for another millennium.
Marion Venus (Elementalist)
A young girl who possesses the power of magic. She lives in the Western Forest with her grandmother, Muriel, and discovers Caine in the woods with a head injury. She nurses Caine back to health and falls in love with Caine. After she discovers that Caine is a real life human from the "heavens", she is heartbroken because she knows that Caine must go back to the real world before the Real Life World portal closes for another millennium.
Walter Montenegro (Cleric)
Sage Guido’s apprentice and heir to the Montenegro family fortune. Throughout the story, he learns of his ancestry and settles down in Cerule.
Rusty Baird (Mechanic)
The Hermit of Tal Mountains. He is well versed in technology and uses his knowledge for good. He meets the party when a mudslide traps him inside the winding caves in Tal Mountains and eventually joins after he and the party encounter a mysterious evil at the Earth Shrine.
Erin Elven (Aerosniper)
An elf from Elfton. After an evil warlock wreaks havoc on her peaceful village, she seeks revenge.

Tal Mountains
The highest point on land in Aum. These mountains are filled with winding caves that go deep underground and lead to the Glacial Rift.
Hallowoods
The haunted woods of Aum where nothing ever grows. Why nothing ever grows there is a complete mystery. Within the grounds, there is an abandoned mansion that once used to be an inn. It is said that you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave.
Wastelands
The Wastelands is a desert and the site of a huge meteor impact. It is surrounded by mountains. There is a never ending snadstorm brewing that prevents anyone from entering there without proper protection.
Cursed Pass
No ship will ever travel there. For hundreds of years, merchant ships have circumvented the area and will only travel between Lemm and Tulé. Because of this, trade has become difficult and has raised prices in the Far East side of Aum.
Glacial Rift
A mysterious area where it snows despite the warm climate. Some say it's because of the way the mountains block the sun. Others say it's caused by the nearby Cursed Pass.
Sea of Clouds
The Sea of Clouds... nothing can penetrate the thick clouds... What lies there is a mystery.
Plains of Destiny
A desert so widespread that people claim that only the strongest people can cross it.
River of Dreams
A river flowing with the dreams of the people. The river flows down from Purity Springs and is recorded to have healing powers.
Lost Woods
A series of winding forests leading to the Grand Orient.
Sacred Circle
The shrine of the elves. This is the purported location of the Book of Destiny, however, it is impossible to enter due to the magical forces surrounding the area.
Crystal Palace
An immense structure carved from a massive glacier. Legend holds that there is a treasure of immeasurable value at the top, however, no one has ever been able to reach the top alive.
Vulcan Valley
A nice relief after traveling through the frozen forests near the Crystal Palace. But then again, 600º isn't that nice for long. Perhaps there's a way to enter this valley without burning to death.
