It's probably safe to assume that a lot of us here are fans of Earthbound.  And personally, one of the most intriguing things about those games to me are the enemies.  The fact that you can go to one area and fight crazy road signs, then immediately in the next area fight floating paintings and the like has always been one of the reasons why I love progressing in those sorts of games.

With that in mind, what are some of the stranger enemies in your favorite games, or maybe in one you're currently making?

I'll start...

In Off, you go through a shopping mall at one point.  For some reason, one of the random encounters you can run into is a giant life-sized whale!  I find this one extra weird since the game doesn't actually call it a ghost, which is what you're fighting for most of the game.  It's just a random whale in a shopping mall.

Right back in the Mother franchise, I would like to bring up the sheer ridiculousness of fighting the Men's Room Sign at one point.  From what I remember, it's actually one of the strongest enemies in the game too, being able to use PK Starstorm.

In one of my planned games, you fight a giant disco ball in a big dance club.  He's based around blinding your team members with surrounding spotlights, then using a big attack that can only be interrupted if you physically hit him.  Which is hard, since your team is blinded.

So what are some strange enemies you've seen in games?

I remember when New Age Retro Hippie used a ruler.

Now he can measure things!

I kind've like the cliche stuff my self. Slimes, goblins, bats, ogres, orcs, ect.

So far this looks like a topic for General Lounge, rather than General Discussion, which is a forum to discuss principles of game making. I shall, therefore, be asking for this to be moved.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
