If this has been asked before, please link me to it.

I was wondering for a while now, what is/was the strangest rpgmaker game you've ever played and what about it did you like/ and or hate about it? Heck, just to make it more interesting, let me just ask what the strangest rpg period was/is to you.

I'll edit this post later to put in my own thoughts.

I've played Yume Nikki before and I agree that it is indeed pretty strange. It's what got one of my Nephews into rpgmaker horror type games in fact.

Calunio's stuff are imho the strangest and some of the most beautiful stuff you'll find when it comes to RPG maker games.

Suzy & Freedom (A game based on a criminal case here in Brazil), Beautiful Escape (this game's pretty sick) and so many others...

And the coolest thing about it is that his games don't use the strangeness as an excuse to not develop any gameplay. In fact the gameplay in his games is quite awesome and always very innovative! But it's easy to hate it. Either you love his stuff... Or you know. You despise it. There's no inbetween.

@JosephSeraph: Those are pretty strange, I'll have to check them out.

Has anyone ever played this old ps2 title called Okage: Shadow King before? I remember it as being very weird, but also pretty funny in its design and gameplay. I think it was an early ps2 title and I only played it once, but I do remember never having put it down until I completed it fully. Wishing I were clever enough to come up with my own quirky type of rpg in the same vein as this.

Operation Darkness, for the XBox360. The game is set in WW2, and you are with British special forces, but your leader is a werewolf, all your companions have magic, and you are trying to defeat the Axis forces and their hordes of vampires, skeletons, and dragons.

Wow, that was certainly... something. I'm assuming there are lots of these types of nonsense games out there?

@bgillisp: I've heard of that game before, but since I don't own an xbox360 I never had a chance to check it out.

If it ever gets released for a system you do own, I'd check it out. I bought it on a whim when it was < $20 at the store, and if you can stand the sheer silliness of the story, its a pretty good game.

I've only ever played "tingles must die" and "aether chronicles: key to heaven" as RPG maker games. So between the two, the strangest one was Tingles. Although, it is a game i have and will recommend people playing. Even though I thought the ending was a little cliche, It isn't an annoying cliche

@Mr. detective: That sure was bizzare... I don't know what to say to that... I mean, I was annoyed and laughing my @$$ off at the same time...

I actually plan on making a strange game after I get the demo of my current project up. "Glitch world!". The story... the world has gone glitchy and you have to figure out why. the end

Getting raped by a horny zombie while listening to 'Joy to the World' is definitely among the strange. I mean, who comes up with this stuff? This is actually a thing? I can definitely see the entertainment value in this, but wow, just wow!

I tip my hat off to Drakiyth777 in the video, I certainly couldn't do this. I just can't believe I sat through both parts of the video, lol!

Also, I agree Mr. Detective. More of this please, this needs to be a thing!

I can definitely be weird when I want to be, but I'm not sure if there's an audience for this kind of nuttiness.

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:
Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
