Stuck constantly moving up, down key not working

So last night everything was working fine. This morning I started back working on my game and noticed when play testing that my party is stuck moving forward until they hit a wall or I make them go right or left. I also noticed on the main menu screen I cannot use the up key when scrolling between new game, continue, and shutdown. Only the down arrow key works. Any thoughts on this? And I apologize if this has been covered before.

That was the first thing I tried. Then swapped keyboards and restarted again. My guy is just stuck moving up until it hits something it cant go through or over. The down keys only stop him from moving, they don't let him move back down. But yet it works on the menu screen where as the up key doesn't.

Update: I uninstalled and did a fresh install of the software and RTP, created a fresh project with no scripts. Problem still exists.

Second update: Uninstalled both keyboard drivers. The issue is fixed but now the exact same issue is happening with the right and left arrows. My hero moves right by itself while the left arrow key does nothing but stop movement. Character doesn't even look left.

you either have a grafic tablet or a game controller that is using the old API from several windows versions back.

Deinstall that driver and allow the default windows drivers to handle the device with the new API, and RM will work again.

(That, or someone might have eaten above your keyboard, getting dirt on the contacts of the keys - that happened to another user a few months back)

Well I would count food as a culprit but I used my backup keyboard. Same issue. I don't think I have any game controllers installed. I'm going to completely uninstall all mouse and keyboard drivers tonight when I have more time to tinker with it.

No, not the main (not good to edit after someone's replied, because there's no guarantee they'll go back and read your edited post). I'm referring to posts 3 & 4, which were immediately after each other within a half hour timeframe. Basically, if yours is the last post, and is less than 3 days old, and you have more to add, just edit the last post instead

Fixed my issue by uninstalling all my keyboards and mouse. You may close this thread. And Shaz I'll remember that from now on.
