For me? Tileset probably, but personally I'd like to see an expansion of TF before getting a new one. (snow tiles, outdoor city tiles, better overworld etc.) If that's not an option, I'd rather pay more and wait a bit longer to get a solid set that can actually do something. (TF is quite good in this regard) We currently have one zillion packs in the store with one zillion different styles and themes but not a single one to make an actual game with more than one town and dungeon without having clashing art. Second I'd say battlers. It would allow us to keep a consistent art style for the game where it matters and give a lot more depth and versatility to TF. (On that note, gib monster pack nao!).

Lastly, facesets. Not to bash facesets, but I think those really aren't viable to focus on because they are incredibly inflexible. Some people want busts, some people want icons, some want everything and most of the time the pack doesn't have it and the facesets are commissioned elsewhere.

I have never used a faceset provided with a pack because they either have 5 characters with eight emotions or 20 characters with one emotion, all in a size I can't use. These options aren't viable for a developer, and I'm assuming you making 50 versions of 50 faces is not commercially viable for you as an artist either. (Especially since your art style is distinctively unique and does not go well with other resources provided by RM/Degica. But perhaps I'm wrong here and other marketplaces view it as hot pancakes.)

But that's just my not so humble opinion. In the end, go with what you think works best for you. And remind me to commission a certain corner tile sometime.

Battler > Tiles > Faces

Actually simple battlers templates alone would be already awesome. Other than that I agree with iMaple on new tiles and the faces.

I think tiles is the most important thing.  They're all important, but the charm of this pack is its very distinct style and it's hard / impossible for a developer to fill in the holes with what's missing, tile-wise--whereas things like batters, sprites, and faces--there are so many resources out there of all different styles that something can be found.

As far as specifics, snow and ice tiles jump to my mind as what I really want.   Also stair tiles for nature (like walking up or down cliffs) rather than ladders.   I took the tile from ace rtp and after much painful editing in gimp, found something that is sorta passable but kind of "meh" in terms of how it looks.

There are also certain fantasy character class tropes from the character pack that are either missing or I'd want more of.  For example I'd love to have more knights, barbarians, rogues, and mages (like 4+ of each so that I have a selection and in case I have multiple characters of the same class in the game).   I know there's lots of generic-looking characters but I'm specifically referring to character sprites where if you look at it you immediately know that it's a knight / barbarian / rogue etc..

Love the pack btw, and really looking forward to your updates. :)

Im sure it will be great, the first Time Fantasy Pack was already wonderful.

Otherwise, i agree with everyone above, battlers and faces would be magnificent.

My opinion:

Unless you can create your own (with face parts), I find facesets in store packs to rarely ever be used (or useful). Since people all want there game's character look unique and already have a look in mind for how the character looks.

The Battler pack looks awesome and will fill a hole needed to make an rpg game (the ability to make battles).  I hope that it includes many enemies in it (to many store packs have these awesome party characters, but do not have any thing for them to fight).

The Sci-fi tiles showcases a pet peeve of mine, how inconsistent the store packs are in terms of style.  So many packs that are useless by themselves (all the different styles and settings).  The only way to make them useful is to commission somebody to try and match the resources or make your own (I always thought that store packs were aimed at people who were bad at art and still want there game to feel semi-unique though).  This also makes the packs less appealing to potential buyers (ex: why buy this pack when I have to commission so much anyway, would rather just use a complete resource set).

I would rather the fantasy setting become more feature complete before other styles are explored.

Question: Have you ever thought of making battle animations to match the time fantasy style? All the current one available clash with the style hard.

The sci fi tiles are in the same style as the other Time Fantasy stuff. They'd be compatible with everything else.

Scifi/tech areas/dungeons are a common trope in fantasy RPGs, and scifi settings can make use of everything in the original pack-- trees, grass, caves etc are useful regardless of the time period. I think that scifi tiles would do the opposite of what you suggest-- because they would allow the TF style to not be restricted to a single time period. Plus fantasy settings are boring, they're usually all the same.  :p

Either way, they're on the list after snow and farm tiles anyway, which fit into a more traditional fantasy setting.

Question: Have you ever thought of making battle animations to match the time fantasy style? All the current one available clash with the style hard.

No. Maybe some effects to go with the character animations, but the standard rpgmaker battle-animations don't interest me.

The time fantasy pack is really good! I'd be able to pretty much use anything.

Scifi, outer space, steampunk, underwater, jungle, crystal caves, wild west, ect.

idk just thought I'd throw out vague suggestions.

Anything will be gold.

I definitely agree that some snow tiles would be nice. Also waterfalls! There's a complete void where those are concerned. I just bought the packs and I am definitely not disappointed. I eagerly look forward to more. Battlers are pretty important too though, as right now I'm just having characters collide with one another with some weapons I edited into their hands.

I just bought the Time Fantasy base pack and the monster pack in the store. I agree with the others here (and with your "to do" list) that snow and waterfalls deserve to be top priorities.

Adaption to MV would also be great, although MV can support the current tile size and characters so resizing is not a huge priority. More significantly, if you want to support MV users the most important thing would be making all of your animated battlers fit into an MV-friendly format by following the MV battler template. A bonus from your perspective would be that it might open up a bigger market for more sales! I love this style and would love to see it continue to get the support you need to keep expanding!

Okay guys so here's some of what I've been working on; and I'd appreciate your feedback:

Which is more important to you: Faces or Battlers or Tiles?

tf_face_preview.png

(wip/preview stuff; not necessarily final)

I've done a little bit on each of these while I'm figuring what the next release will be now that Monsters is on the way; and while I plan to eventually get to all of them; which do you guys think is more important / want to see first?

Would you be alright if I used your battler template as a base to try and create some animated battlers on my own? My spriting is amateur at best, but it would be fun to give it a shot and see what I can come up with. I love these animations that you have here, and being that I'm terrible at that specific part, those blueprints would be infinitely helpful.

Additionally, they would be quite useful as map animations too, which is exciting to me (shooting arrows/swinging swords/casting spells for puzzle solving, etc).

However, I won't do it without your permission of course. If you are planning on releasing a pack of finished ones I'd be happy to pick that up instead, because I'd prefer to support your work if I have the option.

Although i think they're the best thing ever, those battlers would be really hard to make for every character.

Im impressed you've even gone that far making the template.

What I would buy in this order would be;

1. static front view monsters

2. tileset expansions like churches and statutes but not futuristic stuff

3. facesets and icons

anyways great pack, i wouldnt be using rmmv with out this or old school modern pack.

Because The Fury from Metal Gear Solid 3 is one of my favorite bosses of all time, I felt the need to make a somewhat similar boss for my own game. taking cues from both the Fury and another awesome astronaut boss, Captain Vladimir from No More Heroes 2.
