Summer is here! Sure you could do the same old things and go to the beach, hit the pool, ride inner tubes down the nearest old river, OR you could still be super chill but rocking the RPG Maker and make the best, most mind blowing maps ever!!!

About

We are happy to announce an Official Map Contest for RPG Maker! This contest is for anyone who wants to create their own original map to share with the RPG Maker community, impress your peers, and even win a prize!

And to get everyone on the same page, we've chosen a theme for this special event...and you guessed it...the theme is... SUMMER!

Details

You may use RPG Maker MV only, the map must be 30W x 10H, and it must be exported as an image! You may be wondering about the odd size, but all will become clear when you get to the winner's awards.

Then, post your amazing maps HERE in the submissions thread.

A new event-badge will be given to all participants!

For winners

• In addition to the free event-badge, a trophy will be awarded to the 2 submissions that receive the most “Likes”!
• The map that has the most “Likes” will be shown as the header image of @RPGMakerWeb!

Submission Dates: June 18 – July 12​

Each submission must contain the following to be considered:

• The information in the template below (just copy/paste)
• A 30 x 10 tile map image

Note: When submitting the map, make sure it is in an image format!

How to submit

1. Click “Upload a File” to upload your map image
2. Click “Thumbnail” below the images you uploaded to embed it
3. Fill-in the information in the template
4. Click “Post Reply”

Terms and Conditions

1. Only one map per applicant
2. RPG Maker MV only
3. You may use official/user-created resources as long as they are allowed for public use. Proper copyrights and/or credits must be including following the information in the template.
4. You may use edited resources if they have editing permissions
5. You may also use the Parallax Mapping feature. (Background graphics made outside of RPG Maker MV cannot be used)
6. You may not edit the exported image.
7. You may not create a map that could infringe on third party rights
8. Submissions including adult materials such as extreme violence and/or nudity will not be accepted
9. You may tell your friends to “Like” your post even outside the forums, but it is not permissible to post a thread purely for promotion
10. It is not permissible to comment on your post

Handling of Submissions

• Your created map may be used for promotion activities by the RPG Maker Forum Manager.

An applicant’s submission of a map shall serve as an agreement to all conditions listed above.

Okay, I read the rules and had a quick question: can you use characters in as a tile? I was wondering... NOTE: About the love contest, I had completely forgotten about the trophy, myself... =^_^= I can't believe it's been a year, though.

@Touchfuzzy Thank you for the clarification, and even though I wasn't here a year ago, I'm glad to see you taking the bull by it's horns.

If it allows parallax, then wouldn't that be a regular screenshot from the game, or did that just mean backgrounds?

Quick question. It says don't edit the exported image, but if it's a parallax, can we make edits while working on it? (This is probably an extremely stupid question.)

The parallax mapping feature can be used to create a parallax for the map. Full parallaxed maps are not allowed.
