In regards to my previous post:

Well, I do apologize if I sound like I was trolling you, or if it sounded like I was trying to argue with you, Morrigan. To be honest, I don't really know how to troll a person, so thanks for pointing out to me of an example of how I am able to do so.

The user awards are just that, awards. I never asked for them to be given to me, and you are more than welcome to request that they be taken away. I have no problems with that. They are certainly not awarded for intelligence.

If you an issue with me, you are more than welcome to take up with me in PM, or report my post for trolling. I don't think you should consider an entire forum as a waste of time based on one user's response.

I appreciate your criticism of how I may have sounded, though it will probably take me some time to mull over what I said earlier in response to your previous post that sounded like trolling, given the obvious lack of intelligence that I have shown.
Back on topic:

Regarding your post, you mentioned that there are fans of RPG games who want to make their own RPG and get something out of playing computer games. This can be done with just RM VXA by pure eventing and does not really require Luna Engine. That is one of the reasons why I said that you (a dev) would not need to know Ruby or scripting.Luna Engine is (I quote from the product store page) "a series of of scripts created with people with little to no programming knowledge in mind."

I never said that I had any scripting knowledge, or that I was a more advanced user than anyone else here. I too have (present tense) a hard time learning to use the Luna Engine, I never said that I didn't. I did admit that I am only playing with the basic configurations until I become more familiar with the engine (which implies that, like many people here, I am still getting used to it).

You mentioned that you know a little of Java and are learning Ruby. Then you mentioned that you are interested in OOP. You asked if the engine has this kind of feature, and where you could find this code. This all implies that you have at least a slightly more advanced knowledge of scripting in general compared to some of us (myself included).

I simply responded to you that RGSS3 is object-orientated as far as I know. If what you are interested in is OOP, RGSS3 by itself is quite sufficient. That is one of the reasons why I said that you wouldn't really need the Luna Engine for that.
At any rate, I apologize if I have offended you with my prior post, since you felt that I was trying to troll with you.

By the way, if anyone can help explain to me what the combination of the second to last two emoticons used by morrigan for me, I would appreciate it. Thanks!

@Morrigan I just reread the entire thread. By no means Susan is trolling and I don't really have any idea how user awards contribute to this. But moving on.

I purchased Luna Engine thru steam when I realized that RPG Maker VX Ace scripting code could be a pain to learn to modify. Now, when I say modify I mean to code it so that it will do something awesome not basic. I know how to follow along youtube tutorial actually I already gone through my project without Luna Engine help. But since I purchase it from Steam and I did not get what I want from it. I am still interested in using it. :)   I hope the makers of Luna Engine understand people who use Steam are not RPG Maker VX ACE expert nor a Ruby programmer. But some are fans of RPG games who wants to make there own little RPG, for once people would tell them that he finally got something out of playing computer games during weekend. Cool. BD
Then I have something to counter this, because Luna Engine IS targetted for people who can't program.

  • I am not a RUBY Programmer. When Luna Engine was conceived I went to the fray without knowing anything Yami did to it and picked it up immediately. I am just a designer with a clear vision of how I wanted this to work and relayed the concept to him. We build it together afterwards but I wasn't involved into its programming or configuration. I wanted to see how he'll do it and I am satisfied with how he did it. By no means I have any idea how the engine worked at that time.
  • There are around 15 testers for Luna Engine since the time of its creation. All of us didn't have a single manual and went through with it with Trial and Error. Two of the testers have never touched RPG Maker. And they were artists and ARE able to create something with it. Some of them are RPG Maker 2003 users that hate the notion of programming. And are able to create something with it. So yes, I expected people can adapt since they're in the field of game design and development.
Now, moving forward I think we could figure something out while we wait for that video tutorial. I know a little of Java and learning Ruby is still ongoing for me. In Java, we instantiate objects from another classes created by other people to create our own version class with new methods and variable. We call this OOP . I hope you heard about Android programming and that is basically like what I am talking about here. But RPG scripting is much smaller scope and we are not dealing with hardware here but putting up different resources to make a RPG game. Does the engine have this kind of feature? If there is one, could someone please tell me where I could find it in the code? BD

I am confused by this post. For one we have clearly stated that you need to modify the CONFIGS. And nothing else unless you are experienced. This engine is made purely for modifying GUIs and for artists/developers with a clear vision of what they want. What are you trying to create with this engine? Do you have the layout in hand? Do you have a slight idea on how to apply it? THIS is where Luna Engine comes in. It is unusable if you don't know what you want to do GUI wise. That is all. A video won't help you at all with this engine. I suggest that you dive right in here and read it.

Okay that is enough. Nobody is trolling anyone, however I'll be hiding some posts since some people are taking it the wrong way. I will also be investigating the PM you're talking about. Let's get back on topic.

@Archeia Thanks you for the reply from my last post that is still visible here. About the OOP thing, that was I thought it would be when I am trying to figure out how Luna Engine. But since you and Shaz claim that I can just change variable in the configuration in order to use it, that makes it abit easier.

Configuration Main Menu

Configuration Item Menu

Configuration Skill Menu

Configuration Status Menu

Configuration Save Menu

Configuration Equip Menu

Configuration Shop Menu

Battle Luna Config

Are these all the configurations that I need to be concern about for now? Is it possible for me to add Menu selection using these configuration like the Mission selection under the Customize Main Menu? What is Battle Luna Addon? Is this where you change the battle scene like how characters are positioned? Or, customize it like what you had done in custom main menu example?  If I am asking something that is provided in the basic RM scripts not in Luna, please let me know. :)   thank you!

Morrigan you are the only one who's actually trolling in here right now. If you attempt to make another off-topic post regardless of how many says that it is enough I will personally suspend you and give you a warn. I understand that English might not be your first language but NOBODY was trolling. If you want to ask how your behavior is wrong from an outsider perspective, you can ask Shaz.

Now moving on to your questions:

  • Yes that is all the config.
  • It is possible to add new menu commands but I'll get back on that later since we're trying to figure out how add it without being too hard.
  • Battle Luna add-on scripts are for the additional features we implemented.
  • EVERYTHING I showed in the Luna Engine Freebie Tutorial is pure Luna Engine.

Battle Luna add-on? Could you elaborate what features you are talking about? I have some battler scene scripts that I got from other sources. I am thinking if I can use Battle Luna add-on scripts instead.

Only think I need is codes and where to put them.

How to use picture instead of window?

How to define window size and placement without making everything to explode?

+ How to make windows move? ( Not so important)

+ How to use other scripts functionality within Luna Engine windows? Example: MOG picture FX animated picture.

If somebody still supports thin thread, I only need answer on this questions. With the power of necromancy I'll set this thread ALIVE!!!

I was messing around with timings and kinda created the green shell minigame from Mario and Luigi: BIS.
It was too goofy not to share XD
Was real busy today but I found a few minutes to start on the named cultists and how to give each of them visually distinctive morphology within the confined of the cult robes. I really dislike straight recolors so I trying real hard with the small details on these.
