I've been trying this and I'm getting a error that states:

Script 'Mouse 3' line 678: NameError occurred.
undefined method 'update' for class 'Scene_File'
I'm new to scripting so I don't know much about errors. How do I fix this?

That usually means that you placed the script at the wrong position or broke a command or so.
The following tutorial was written for Ace, but is general enough that most points apply to RMXP as well:

This may not the the most current demo for the Super Simple Mouse Script by Amanda, but it is surprisingly available for download at her website.  There is a difference in filesize (306K vs 315K), but maybe that's graphic related and not script related (or just minor changes).

I'm hoping a mod copies this link as a 'temp link' into the main post until the attachment is fixed.  How the attachment system broke... Dunno.

If anyone has a copy of this script (not the version that DerVVulfman linked), can you throw it in pastebin? Trying to copy and fix the lines from the first page is a nightmare and the link no longer works.

@kameliakio and @bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb  loaded the code from the first page.  Here are the links:

    Start Game

    Mouse 1

    Mouse 2

Mouse 3 (note: lines 406-408 is where script 3 halves meet)

I tested these in a new copy of a game with no other scripts to make sure that there wasn't an issue with the script itself.  The arrow icons are needed for the pointer as well; You may need to pull the file that @DerVVulfman linked for them.

@amaranth If/when you want me to remove the pastebin links, just let me know.

It's a great script! But I was wondering if there any way to stop player from following the mouse? I want only the mouse to touch and activated the event without player following the mouse?

Yeeeeaaaahh...   Amanda's not dealing with RPGMaker TOO much now... just hobbyist.  And she doesn't have a copy of the mouse script other than the one I linked from her site.  Now if someone has the scripts from her latest and assembles it with the resources, I don't see any reason it couldn't be re-posted (and have some MOD fix the attachment ;) ).

Now insofar as having a mouse script that allows for mouse point-n-click movement -OR- have player movement by cursor while using the mouse to hover over and click events like the old Sierra King's Quest games...  I got 'Mousie' (based on Amanda's script) over in Save-Point or within my posted Lycan ABS.  The Mouse Windows script in it is still hers.  Forewarned... it's more complex and has way more options.

If someone had the script from her latest, it would be because they'd hacked it, so yeah, there IS a reason it couldn't be reposted.

What's wrong with the one you linked from her site?

It's not the latest version as described by the version number in her post.  And there's a difference in file-size, the 306K of the link from her site vs the 315 of the attachment that is now corrupted.  It appears she merely made an attachment here rather than replacing the zip file in Amaranthia.com.

In that, I assert that if someone had actually downloaded the latest version it was prior to the attachment in her initial post became corrupted, not because of a hack.

As her initial post still doesn't have a viable link, here's the link to the older copy at Amarantia, again (keeping it handy):  (CLICK ME)

I thought you meant if someone got the latest version from her latest game (which would be the latest version of her mouse script).  THAT would require hacking.

    @Shaz

I encountered a small problem in the script.

When I use the script, and call the F1 menu, the mouse becomes invisible and you can't see any mouse pointer (not even the windows one). This way I can't use the F1 menu because I can't see where am I pointing at. Is there a soluton for this?

I can't seem to download either zip, I get a message saying it's broken or missing. When I try to copy and paste the mouse 1 code nothing shows up on the script page. I can paste it to a word processor, so I am getting the text but for some reason when I paste it to rmxp nothing shows up.

You're pasting it into the script text window (the big window on the right), not the slot name?  No reason it shouldn't paste into the XP script area if you can paste it into a word processor.

I'm sorry for writing after so long, but I would like to know if you can upload the demo again, since I'm getting an error every time I want to download it, saying that the file was not found, I'd really appreciate it if you can do it.
