I just want ones opinion about MV's SV battle style. Doesn't it seem a little weird and off how it's output? Don't get me wrong, I was extremely happy to hear after the announcement last year about SV finally making an appearance, but after testing it multiple times, it just feels a bit off. Especially when animations are executed. I love both styles, but I feel Maker MV is still better off on its Original Battle format.

What do you guys think? Am I the only one that feels or thinks this?

Are you talking about the default sprites or just how MV executes the entire concept?  The sprites don't bother me at all, but if I were to make a game with the SV system I probably wouldn't use them, I prefer taller sprites.  I prefer SV style battles to front view format.  It's more dynamic and I see more of the characters I'm playing.  It's a lot more work artistically though.

I like front view better, only because I don't think pull off SV good enough to be using it in many cases. Mana Khemia (and other Gust games from around the same time), to me, stands out as how SV battles should be. Dynamic and alive and bursting with crazy, fast pace animations for both enemies and the party. I know that isn't a realistic expectation, but it's what my brain WANTS when it sees a SV system. Anytime I've used SV in my own games, I feel it's lackluster and I wonder softly why I didn't just stick with front view.

Anyway, as for execution, MV's SV system runs a whole lot better than 2k3's, that much is for sure. 2k3's active system was prone to really strange moments where the flow was broken. I didn't quite notice anything like that with MV (or anything off with the animations ran)

I know I'm in a minority liking front view better; one likely fueled by the petty fact that as the team's artist, I know I can never pull off side view in a way that truly meets my expectations of it. :/

I'm talking the front view format.

Quite honestly, I may switch to front view. It looks too weird with the shrunk characters. I understand FF1 and FF2 did their characters shrunk and all, but that's an older model back in the day.

Don't forget, aspiring writers: Personality isn't what your characters do, it is WHY they do it.
Hello! I would like to know if there are any pluggings or any way to customize how battles look?
I was thinking that when you start the battle for it to appear the eyes of your characters and opponents sorta like Ace Attorney.
Sadly I don't know how that would be possible so I would be needing help! If you can help me in any way I would really apreciate it!
