Switching active character

Is there a way to switch the active character by event? I'm making a cutscene and I need to make sure the right person is moving.

In an event you can set a move route to move other events and the player. At the top of the move route command screen there is a drop down menu to determine which event is moving.

In a cutscene, every command given at any time should be in a single event, do NOT put the commands into different events.
To control other events (which should be only empty pictures) or the player, use the move route command (NOT autonomous movement) and change the target of the command to the desired other event/player in the drop-down-menu top left.

By active character, do you mean the party leader?

maybe you can do something like

$game_party.swap_order(index1,index2)

index means the position on the party, which I think 0 means leader... so you still need to know exactly the position of the next actor, which you can do via some conditionals

that's for adding/removing party members, though of course removing everyone else for the moment can be done to do that same effect

Yes, I know but the OP asked for an evented way to accomplish it, and without knowing exactly what is trying to be accomplished nor the op's knowledge of event commands, this is the only other solution that I can think of.

To explain how he will use what you posted, since it might not be obvious to him how we will utilize the change party command right away

PS: BTW, the first method I posted will be used via an Event Command too

I was able to work around it; it just required a little creativity in eventing. I don't need any more help.

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
