Script version 2.0.

What does the script do?:
This script will add additional splash screen(s) before the main title screen. You can have it display 1 or 2 images (even more is possible if you wish).
You can also play Sound Effect along with the splash screen.

Screenshots:
Not neccesary.

Known bugs:
None.

Instructions:
All the neccesary guiding and info is included inside the script text. All you need to do is add 2 images in your "graphics/system" folder. They MUST be named "splash1" and "splash2" (if you wont change the required filename(s) from the script.)

My template Splash1.png and Splash2.png files here for test use:

Splash1 (First image to pop up)

Splash2 (Second image to pop up)

Remember to rename the files as Splash1 and Splash2 and put them in the graphics/system folder!

Nice, simple splash screen script. Although, you really should dispose that sprite when you are done with it.

That's true... hmm... I might include that within the next update.

Sorry, I have to say...

An update should have begun immediately after this was pointed out.

Have you checked the link within Mithrans sig? It clearly explains why this should have been updated ASAP...

It only takes a tiny bit of code to do...

sprite.bitmap.clear         # wipes bitmapsprite.bitmap.dispose    # dispose bitmapsprite.dispose               # dispose sprite
Edit:

After actually looking at the code, here is a few suggestions I feel required to make...

1 - Put your code in its own class and alias the SceneManager method first_scene_class to call your scene before the title.

2 - Create a module to hold your 'SydoScreen' constant.

UPDATE:

Script now 2.0V. Sprites now get disposed. You can have multiple images (more than 2). + Sound effect for each of them. (Thanks for Vindaca)

I'm already planning to use this script for my games, but there's something I'm curious about.

Would it be possible to use this script to play a video (such as an intro movie) during the splash sequence, such as after the splash screens are displayed? This would have to have an option to be skipped by players, however.

This update is currently in planning phase. I had this idea planned for the script since start. :D

Very glad to hear this! I was asking because I saw the potential with the script to create "on game bootup" intros, like some games have.

I'm also curious if this script is friendly with use of DiamondandPlatinum3's Story-Entwined Title Screen script.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
