I've been looking for about an hour and honestly I'm lost on how to get this to work.

Okay, so the issue is: I want to make the enemies use weapons when they attack. I read the manual and it said to add the notetag <weapon 1: Icon_ID> and I've been tinkering with this notetag for a bit trying to get it to work. I'm obviously just completely missing what to do with it because I can't find any mention of anyone else not getting it to work past the answer of "add this notetag".

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

RMMV
Tag your enemies like so:

<weapon 1: 21>

21 being the weapon ID, and it plays that weapon's animation along with drawing the weapon icon when it does the default SWING symphony tag.

1 being 1st weapon. If you want them to dual wield animation then you use <weapon 2: 21>, 2 being the second weapon they have "equipped". (or at least I think it works like that, I haven't tested dual wield animations for enemies yet)

Thanks for the reply Kerbonklin, but I'm still having the same issue. I added <weapon 1: 21> to the notes section for the enemy, but it still doesn't show the sword. I tried changing it to <weapons 1: 21>, <weapon 1: 021> and <weapons 1: 021>.

My note section for the enemy currently looks like this:

<battler set: $Guard, 0><Weapon 1: 21>

Do I need to separate the tags with something? I've tried space, semicolon and a comma.

<battler set: >

<Weapon 1:21>

Well I'm also having this issue, and everything appears to be in order.

<battler set: soldier, 0>

<Weapon 1:21>

Tried with other weapon IDs as well to no avail.  Battler set shows up fine.  I'm using several Yanfly scripts, but nothing that modifies enemy combat.

Scratch that...

First off, apologies for the neco-post! But instead of clogging up the forums with a "repeat" request, I thought I'd reply to here since there is no closing answer.

However, I am having the SAME EXACT problem with the Enemy Character set note tags, even after following all the directions. It seems that the OP had this issue and fixing the notetags helped - but it sure isn't working for me.had some sort of epiphany that I am yet to have and deleted his last post gave up on the battle system and moved to a different one, but I was hoping if anyone else could help.

I have all the scripts installed and do not have my tags on the same line:

<battler set: $alyseth>

<weapon 1: 147>

And my enemy still just runs up and no weapon is shown.

What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

Uhm, he made it to work with our fixes,

Did you try it on battle test or a new game? Did you save before testing? Does it work on other enemies?

This isn't really about my main question, but since you bring it up: I messaged the original poster another guy in this thread about this question and asked him how he solved it before I replied here. He told me himself that he could never get it to work and that he moved on to a different battle system. I'd rather stick with this battle system for a number of reasons.

As for your other questions, yes I tried on 3 new test games from scratch. I saved before testing. It's not working on other enemies. In some ways, it's half-working, in that the correct enemy sprite is showing up, just not the weapon.

Here's the test game for anyone who wants to download it and look under the hood: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/62859791/BattleSymphonyTest.exe

Oh, you know what, I messaged Kestrelio. I think I messaged them both, and Kestrelio got back to me - so my mistake.

That post has been edited.

Is there a suggestion how to fix those tags? Does the iconset need to be in a special spot? Do I need a custom iconset?

djbeardo,

You don't have a weapon 147 in your database as it only goes up to 60.

Ah, nice to see you over here too!

Good call - I'll give that a shot when I get home.

I don't like being called a liar :(

Edit:

Also, I just went back and looked at the one game I was using the Symphony Battle System for and I noticed there was a different issue. When I added the DLC packs into my resources it changed the icons for some of my weapons. Make sure that the weapon you are looking at using has an icon set in the resources section.

Thanks so much! This is the answer I was looking for! I have either been reading the wrong directions or completely misinterpreting them.

For people who may be having the same issue, the number refers to the number of the weapon in the "weapon" tab. The number of the icon in the iconset has nothing to do with it (which is where I was totally wrong). So if you put in <weapon 1: 20> it makes the long sword show up.
